Realizing that life is too short not to try and follow your passion! I'd worked in offices for many years, and volunteered as a local dog walker/ pet sitter during spare evenings/weekends, to get to spend time with animals. I always knew that caring for animals was a passion of mine (am also vegetarian/vegan!), but like many, I almost forgot that your career could also be your passion! 1. I'd always, ALWAYS recommend meeting as many people as you can, before you make your choice. This is such an important decision, meeting as many prospective walkers/sitters as you can will help you ensure that you have found the best person for your pet. I really can't stress this enough.
2. Ensure that they are Insured, and check their background/reviews as best you can. I'd also recommend that you strongly consider installing a petcam for your peace of mind (if you don't have one already)- you'll be able to see what times your walker arrives/leaves, and how they are with your pet. You can find some very reasonably priced ones on Amazon.
