Karen's K9 Academy

Shropshire

Karens K9 Academy offers Dog Walking, Dog Training in groups or as a 1:1 in your own home. I also offer Agility Training in my outdoor paddock and Nosework For Dogs classes at Minsterley Parish Hall. I am also available to do home visits to attend to dogs, cats, rabbits etc. My Dog Walking is done on a one to one basis, no group walking ensuring lots of individual attention. Training takes place weekly all year round at various locations and at varying times to suit. Classes are run for both Puppies and Adult Dogs and include all the normal exercises you would expect plus some fun exercises too. One to One visits can be arranged to discuss individual problems or to give advice. I am also a partner in a small business enterprise called The K9 Classroom which organises dog related, talks, seminars and events all year round.

What do you love most about your job?

Meeting all the wonderful dogs and their owners and helping them forge a great relationship. Being out in the fresh air, getting to know the dogs and ensuring they have an enriching and enjoyable walk whilst also keeping them safe.

What inspired you to start your own business?

After a period of illness and an enforced period of not working, I decided that I would like to become self-employed to enable me to spend time with my own dog. I wanted to work with dogs and after researching, found there was a gap in the market for one to one dog walking in my area. Hence my business was born. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life and so it was obvious that this was the best choice of new career for me.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am professional and care deeply about my clients and their pets. The dogs I walk become an extension of my own doggie family. I am committed to giving excellent training at affordable prices and continue to improve my knowledge and skills by attending numerous seminars and workshops. I am a member of the Pet Dog Training Instructors Organisation and adhere to their strict code of conduct and their requirement of continuous professional development.
