The PAWSitive Woof Pack

The PAWSitive Woof Pack consists of husband and wife team: Adam focusses on providing enriching dog walking experiences (both pack and solo walks) whilst Louise is our resident Dog Training Instructor and Canine Behaviourist (though, you may well catch her on some dog walks too, as she just can't help herself!). DOG WALKS We're happy to take on any dog, no matter the age or size. However, we tend to specialise in working with dogs other walkers find too big, strong or "difficult to handle". We LOVE a challenge and take huge pride in helping keep your dog stimulated and exercised. DOG TRAINING We offer puppy and obedience training as well as behaviour modification (from stopping lead pulling, through to working on resource guarding, reactivity, aggression and anxiety). Our training is all done one to one, in your home, which ensures it's perfectly tailored to you, your requirements and your dog (this also means we can take into account breed characteristics, age, health and previous training). Training is not a one-size fits all process, which is why we work with you to find out the right size for you. *** IMPORTANT INFO *** Please note, we no longer respond directly to Bark requests. As a potential customer you may not be aware, but businesses on Bark have to buy credits (£40.80 for 5), and then use those credits to buy your contact details (leads). These leads cost anywhere between a minimum of 5 credits each (£40.80) and (£60.80), depending on how much you've said you're willing to pay (information that is not passed to us). Given that most people making an enquiry through Bark are only window-shopping, the lead to paying customer ratio is below 10%. This makes Bark an exceptionally poor value for money service. Were we to continue using this, we would have to put our prices up, and we don't want to do that. We appreciate this may be frustrating, but hopefully if you have any questions about our services, you can find all the information you need on our website :) NOT PROVIDED Please be aware that we do not provide guard dog, service dog or protection training. Check out our Facebook page for top tips and ideas on puppy selection, general dog ownership and training.

What do you love most about your job?

The best bit about this job is making a genuine difference. Taking a dog who is reactive and who the owners dread walking, working with them to instill calm, confident leadership and seeing that dog relax as the handler takes charge is absolutely beautiful and never gets old.

I'm passionate about keeping dogs out of shelters and off the euthanasia table, so doing anything that makes dog ownership what it's meant to be - fun, exciting and rewarding - contributes to that.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I've been self-employed since 2008 when I was made redundant. Due to childcare requirements I set up a virtual business, as I was needed at home. However, now the kids are older, I have a lot more freedome.

As a family, we have four dogs, so they've always been a massive passion of mine. After contracting Covid in late 2021 I decided to make some major changes to my life - I didn't want to be sat around behind a desk doing work that didn't inspire me or really make any differnce to anyone's life. After a lot of discussion and soul-searching, I realised that dogs should be my main focus.

Since then, I've set up The PAWSitive Woof Pack, started my dog training studies and the rest is history :)

Why should our clients choose you?

It's really important that anyone who is handing the safety of their dog over to a professional dog walker or trainer feels entirely confident and happy with the person they've chosen. That's why I think it's vital you arrange a face to face meeting with anyone you're considering hiring for the job.

Here at The PAWSitive Woof Pack we offer a completely free, no obligation meet and greet. This gives us a chance to meet you, discuss your dog's needs, and do a brief informal assessment on your dog prior to commencing work.

As to why me, specifically? Other than being dotty about dogs, I'm very knowledgable about specific breeds, learning styles, and different training methods. I'm a balanced trainer with experience of working with a variety of dogs and situations.

I also volunteer for Dogs4Rescue as a dog walker, working specifically with their more reactive dogs including previous street dogs.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I'm happy to discuss the possibillity of online/remote sessions on a case by case basis. There are some situations that can be discussed and advised on without the need for physical intervention; however, with dog training, this can obviously difficult to achieve.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I am happy to accomodate client needs and will wear a face mask if required. Please just let me know.
