My name is Albie, I am about 4 yrs old & I think I am a mix between a staffie & a corgi. I lived on the streets in Portugal, which was pretty awful, but I was lucky to be rescued and brought to a centre in Wales.
My human Pat saw my picture on line, said she fell in love with me & I came to my forever home in October 2015. I was so pleased but I nearly messed things up because I did not know how to behave.
Because I was afraid I barked & jumped at every dog that came near me. Any noise made me jump, I hate the rain and was too frightened to go for a walk in case Pat left me.
Pat did not know what to do with me, she knew I loved her but she is an older person who lives alone and I know she began to wonder if she had made a mistake because I am very strong and once I pulled her over.
Both our lives changed when Pat looked on line for someone to help us and she found Je-an.
Jean loves dogs and has the training and experience to know what makes us behave as we do and how we can be helped. At first Je-an had to stay with me whenever Pat went out but gradually , with the help of her and her gang, I became less frightened of being abandoned. We went for walks, I learnt how to search for treats and how to play. Although I am a bit rough still I would not hurt anyone.
I walk better now and although I still am afraid of bicycles and noisy lorries Je-an is helping me to cope better with them. She is also helping Pat who was very anxious when she took me out and that made me worse but thanks to Je-an I am learning to trust people & other dogs and once I do I am their friend for life.
I love Je-an & her gang, she still works with us 3 times a week and I hope we can go on forever as I know Pat is happier as Je-an is always on hand with advice and practical help.
I know I still have some way to go, but when I think of where I was 8 months ago I feel really proud and think we were so lucky to find Je-an

Pawfect Adventures was created with one goal in mind - to give all pooches the perfect day. The joy of being an animal owner is often overshadowed by the concern of leaving them alone all day whilst you go to work. Pawfect Adventures are here to ensure your animal is cared for, exercised, loved and let out for that essential toilet trip! Caring for all animals (whilst you earn the money to buy them all the yummy treats they deserve) is our honour and privilege.

I am a Dog Trainer of 38years experience and I only walk small groups for safety. Your dogs are fully insured whilst they are out with me. I worked at Riverside Vets from 1988 until 2011 and ran Dog Training Classes in Bishopstoke from 1981 until 3yrs ago when I handed over to Juliet who also does a grand job. Walks are varied between Woodland, Country Parks and water walks when it warm.
Sea City Dogs provides training to help urban dogs thrive in our busy modern world. We offer classes for puppies and older dogs. We also offer home visits to help support you with more challenging behaviour. We have a great outdoor venue, right in the city centre of Southampton, where we run our classes. Sherree has 9 years of experience as a trainer, and is fully qualified and insured. She is a member of the professional body The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers. She is also a TTouch Practitioner and an ACE Associate Tutor.
Obviously I LOVE having a class full of baby puppies of all shapes and sizes! Such fun.
However, I get most satisfaction from helping people who are having a problem with their dog, as it can be very stressful for everyone at these times. Sometimes these problems are relatively easy, for example getting the dog to come back when called, other times the problem can be long term and challenging, such as being reactive around other dogs . I love helping people find really practical solutions so that they can understand better how to support their dog. They can then begin to relax and enjoy being with their dog again- so everyone has a happier time.
I had been working as a dog trainer for many years, both with a Hampshire training school and a national assistance dog charity, when I decided what I really wanted to do is focus on helping urban dogs. Living in cities can be tough for dogs. I realised my skills and experience could be best used working in the environment I know and love- the city! I set up Sea City Dogs in 2019 and am so happy I did.
I am very practical. I don’t tend to teach anything that I don’t think is actually useful in the real world. My own dogs will never win any prizes at Crufts for their ‘obedience’ but they are happy, calm dogs that can go anywhere with me and are a joy to live with...I think that’s what most people are really looking for.
