Most likely you are thinking about seeing me or another therapist because you have some difficulty to resolve that has become too much to bear, or have found therapy useful before and wish to do some more work or work at a deeper level on a returning difficulty. People seek therapy for many different reasons, we are all unique and that is OK, here are some the presenting issues you will have heard of, and other reasons too. Relationship (Couples Welcome) Anxiety Trauma including PTSD and symptoms of Survivor of Abuses - Physical-Sexual-Emotional-Cultural Addiction - Including Alcohol and other Drugs Depression Bereavement- (Loss) redundancy, divorce, children gone- age Low Self Esteem/Self Worth/Self Image Self Sabotage I Can’t think clearly under pressure Feeling Stuck / Ground Down Repeated Patterns -why do I keep doing that? Food / Eating Why do people keep looking at me / Judging me? Recuperating from mental illness. Finding out more about myself. Anger - and all other areas of Emotional Regulation / Disavowed parts of self Personal Growth & Change Always wondered about therapy? Deep down, I know there’s something wrong with me……… Lots of other reasons, truly as many reasons as there are different people in our world. Better to think of Therapy of Change and Growth, rather than 'what is wrong with me' First contact is often via email, or text, that is OK with me, then we will need to speak by telephone. After we have spoken by phone typically for 15 - 20 minutes, I will offer you an initial contract, or suggest a zoom meeting to discuss further, or may possibly suggest a different therapist if I believe that is the right thing to do. I offer Therapy In Person and Online. New clients start online for initial sessions (this works best, from experience) If you are new to therapy I suggest an initial 6 session commitment. A lot of work is possible within six weeks to three months, and for some issues that may be enough. I expect some improvements after six weeks. Some deep work can take longer. If you’ve been one way all your life or subjected to severe Trauma, shifting/changing/ recovering your ‘true’ self may take time. I’m ethically bound to work in your best interests, only on what you identify you want to work on, and to end therapy when that work is done. I am experienced in working with a variety of clients including those whose stories or difficulties are ‘severe’ I work mainly from my private therapy room here in my home in rural tranquil Bodiam on the East Sussex /Kent border. Easy reach of Hastings, Battle, Rye, Uckfield, Wadhurst, Tenterden, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. Situated in a quiet location with guaranteed easy on-street car parking. In summer months the Summer House may be used which looks onto a picturesque rural landscape. I am an Accredited Professional NCPS (their terminology) and also trained in Psychotherapy (TA) at Masters level for over 5 years. I am a Qualified Trauma Focused Therapist meeting New Haven Competencies (Manchester Psychotherapy Foundation) I am a Supervisor of Therapists Post Grad Cert Cross Modality (Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy)

What do you love most about your job?

Facilitating people to change and have a better quality of life, especially when they have previously been in pain or torment and believed that this was just how things were for them.

Being human is tough enough, some people had to deal with stuff that was not OK in any way, or are currently overwhelmed by significant events - I can help - how can I not love that about my job ?

What inspired you to start your own business?

Working privately means no organisational constraints on working the most effective way possible. Of course I am bound by strict ethical codes from various Professional bodies I belong to including NCPS, UKCP, EATA

Why should our clients choose you?

Clients are best served by a therapist they feel comfortable with.
I have a great ability to work with all types of different people and very good insight. I am very well trained as I studied at Masters level for over 5 years and will take further exams in Psychotherapy. I have also worked in Mental Health and Drug Rehab and have a really good grasp of the difficulties people may be facing. I am already a fully Qualified and Accredited Counsellor and offer full hour sessions for an inclusive /affordable rate.

I work both In Person and Online. Some clients now choose some and some for practicalities. The efficacy of online work was unequivocally proved through Covid and universally embraced within all Therapy Bodies and Organisations, and I see more clients online now, overall.
I've also recently updated my therapy room with super comfy furnishing so all shapes and sizes of people may be at ease comfortably, if visiting in person.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes I offer online Therapy via Zoom ideally (free works cross platforms / devices) other options if required.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

We are now 'Post Covid', but I still ask clients to hand sanitise on entry from pump by entrance, and all door handles and contact points are wiped with anti bacterial cleaner after each client. Room is vented after each client.
