My clients often tell me things they haven't told anyone. They allow me into their inner world, and let me explore it with them. It is never lost on me what a privilege that is. Being a counsellor means that I have real human meaningful connections every day. From when a conversation starts with a client they are talking about the issues that are really important to them at that moment.

We all have difficulty coping with problems and often need to be listened to without being judged. I offer counselling that is friendly and professional. I know that you need space to explore your feelings and its important to find a way of working together that suits you. My role as your counsellor is to help you to work out your own solution. I work face to face with, adults, young people and couples at my counselling practice in the centre of Hastings . I also visit people at home and I offer telephone counselling. As well my private practice I have worked many years for a well known local counselling charity and a GP surgery. I work with people with dementia and I have run anger management groups.
I enjoy working with a variety of different people. I admire the courage of people who share their lives with their counsellor. I feel very lucky that people put such trust in me and in our relationship.
I am happy to be able give them my support.
As a social worker one of the groups I worked with was drug abusers. I saw how much counselling helped these and other people move on in their lives. I decided to train to become a counsellor because I thought I had more to offer in this role and being self employed gIves me the flexibility to work with clients alongside caring for my grandchildren.
Clients should choose me because I have a lot of counselling and life experience. Before I qualified as a counsellor I worked in other job occupations. This has helped me understand people from different backgrounds. Also I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I work by their Ethical Guidelines. I have regular supervision with a supervisor who is also a member of the BACP.
