Great Missenden
Hi, my name is Corinne. I am a professional but relaxed, kind & caring CBT counsellor who specialises in anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and confidence issues. I provide individual therapy over the phone, online or face-to-face at affordable prices. My sessions last an hour and I am afraid it's like being back at school ( but hopefully less scary) I do give homework. It's not every session though :)
Great Missenden
I offer space for people who wish to explore fundamental issues. Some people are driven to counselling by a current crisis that means they need support. Others have been managing perfectly well but decide that repeating destructive patterns or underlying dissatisfaction now deserve attention. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling from Re-Vision. This is 'counselling with a soulful perspective'.

If you are reading this there is a chance that you (or someone you know) may be experiencing some emotional difficulties. In my personal experience, counselling and psychotherapy can help with a wide range of problems related to life and living. Many of us don’t know why we feel unhappy and sitting down with a trained therapist can help uncover the self-defeating patterns we may have stumbled into as a consequence of life’s events. I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. I offer both short and long term counselling/therapy to individuals and couples. I have worked with people through a broad range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, all types of abuse, family issues, bereavement, complex needs and personality disorders. I offer a space for us to work together to explore your thoughts and feelings with a ‘better tomorrow’ being our primary goal. The prospect of counselling can often seem daunting and scary, but once the step into it has been taken, the process of self-discovery is usually a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Our first meeting is free of charge and gives us the chance to see how we can work together. What are the benefits of individual counselling? Talking to someone who gives you their undivided attention can be a very healing and rewarding process. It can relieve anxiety, depression or stress due to work or relationship issues. It could help you cope with major life changes, such as the break-up of a relationship, the death of a loved one or the loss of a job. The process of understanding yourself can help you identify and break out of self-defeating patterns. It can also help you manage extreme reactions such as anger. Therapy can be instrumental in the recovery from physical, sexual or emotional abuse. If you have trouble sleeping, counselling can help your mind slow down a little. As the mind and body are inextricably linked, counselling can also help with physical ailments. What are the benefits of couples counselling? Sometimes it is easier for someone who is not so involved to spot unhelpful patterns in your ways of relating. It can help you to share your thoughts and feelings and improve your communication. Having the space to talk through difficult topics and to know that you are in a safe environment to do so, can bring a sense of relief and allow your partner to really ‘hear’ you. This can promote intimacy on many levels. If the relationship has experienced a trauma, such as infidelity, counselling can help to rebuild your trust in each other.
Having the opportunity to help people identify and break out of destructive patterns that are limiting the potential pleasure of living. Being involved in the process of change and seeing clients have the weight of their issues lightened, is a very rewarding and humbling experience.
My journey towards becoming a psychotherapist has been life-long. I realised that I was interested in people whilst working for many years in a customer facing role for a high street bank. I found as I got to know people some would share aspects of their lives, such as problems they were experiencing, and I felt empathy and an instinct to help them.
This led me to exploring how people’s minds work further by doing a degree in psychology and to become a listening volunteer with Samaritans before commencing formal training as a psychotherapist and counsellor.
Being a psychotherapist is more than a job to me. I believe that my natural enthusiasm and empathy can help give a positive experience for my clients. Whilst training to become a psychotherapist I have had placements at two counselling services in London and worked with a wide range of people and issues. In addition I did a year long placement within the NHS, facilitating group therapy for patients with personality disorders and complex needs.
I am a Registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) having trained at the Metanoia Institute in London and have an MSc and Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. I also hold a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
I am DBS checked, hold public liability insurance and my work is supervised by a UKCP registered supervisor.
