The Red Lion's a charming little country pub in an equally charming village. The location is beautiful, as is the pub. Food too was absolutely delicious - baked cod on mash with king prawns was delicious as was the prawn linguine.The only complaint I have, and I'm reluctant to make too much of this as the rest of the experience was lovely (especially the beer garden out the back), was the service was a little flustered. We arrived pretty early and were probably the first people to order and there were several things on the specials menu that the chef realised wasn't available a bit after we ordered, plus food did take a while (again, I suspect to us being the first customers).But reading other comments, I think this is more of a one off and the locals seemed to love the place as well. Plus, when we arrived, they were preparing for an open-air performance of Shakespeare in the beer garden - I'd have been happy to return for this. A lovely place, and a reviewed caveated with the sense that my service experience was the exception rather than the norm.
