Hi My name is Elaine Martin and I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and Certified Practitioner of Therapeutic Play based in the Glasgow area. I work with children, young people and adults experiencing a range of mental health issues, including: • Anxiety • Depression • Low mood • Low self-esteem • Exam stress • Work difficulties • Trauma • Bereavement • Relationship / interpersonal problems There are times when we experience situations that cause us distress and life can feel overwhelming, finding ourselves unable to move past these times or to speak openly and freely to those we are closest to. Making the decision to seek help and support through therapy can be a difficult decision and finding the right therapist who you feel comfortable and safe with can be another huge hurdle. I offer my clients a safe and confidential space to talk about their issues and concerns at their pace. By establishing a supportive, non-judgemental relationship, I will work together with you to find solutions to help overcome the challenges and difficulties you are facing. I am a member of The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and Play Therapy UK (PTUK) and follow their guidelines of ethics and standards of practice. I am fully insured and hold an up to date enhanced PVG disclosure. Thank you for visiting and I look forward to speaking to you.

What do you love most about your job?

I feel privileged to help people in their time of need and to see them take back control of their life and make positive changes.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have had a life-long ambition to become a therapist, understanding first-hand the impact mental health issues can have on the individual, their family and those who love them. I want to help people come through some of their most difficult times. However, therapy is not readily available to everyone and I wanted to start my own business to help fill that gap, believing that everyone has a right to access this type of support when they need it rather than joining a waiting list. I believe in early intervention, to help people navigate their difficulties at the earliest opportunity.

Why should our clients choose you?

Coming to therapy can be daunting and nerve-racking. Through building a supportive and safe relationship with you I will help to put you at your ease - never judging or rushing you. My approach is one of partnership - you are the one who knows about your life and I am the one who knows about therapy so working together we will find a way forward that works for you.
