Staffordshire
Harness Coaching offers people of all ages, face to face Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that is outside and can be combined with Equine Facilitated Coaching sessions that are outside at 3 venews across Staffordshire. Our aim is to help people cope with life and what it throws at us by building greater self awareness, confidence and resilience. We specialise in helping people manage stress more effectively by developing practical tools they can use in both work and in their life. Stress is a part of life and understanding what is going on physically, when we feel anxious, can help us find our own ways of de-stressing and letting go of the unhelpful thinking we have over situations we often can't control. We understand that many people are struggling with their mental health and well being at this time and may find the changes in their life overwhelming. Asking for help is the start to taking control and feeling better. We offer Walk & Talk sessions at a suitable local venue. These sessions are a very effective for people who are feeling stressed & anxious and/or Depressed who want a safe place to off load their concerns. They combine being out in the fresh air gaining a greater self awareness of the body and brain connections. We also run Equine Facilitated Coaching sessions at a number of locations across Staffordshire. These provide a fantastic experience of how we can learn to find a sense of inner calm that we all need before we tackle anything difficult. We have many families who have xchildren with Learning Difficulites like ADHD or ASD who find these sessions really helpful in learning how they can best support their child and gain support for them and the siblings. I am a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), Associate Fellow. Im also Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCCP). I am a CBT Stress Management Coach and a LEAP (EFL) Equine Facilitated Learning Practitioner. I have been chartered since 2009 and worked in helping businesses for the last 10 years including Senior Leadership Teams and individual development coaching in the workplace to help reduce stress and mental health issues.
I love working with people who want to make a positive change in their life rather than put up with the same old negative habits and fears that hold them back. I wonderful to support people to reach for their dreams and succeed with something they want to improve. The coaching sessions are about giving people time to think so they can start to understand their problems more clearly, often for the first time and sharing this with them is very precious to me. Stress is a fact of life we can't remove, anxiety and depression are not, but often we feel they are an inevitable outcome of being under stress. If we can learn better ways to manage stress we can build our resilience to cope with lifes ups and downs.
I wanted to help people before they fall ill with stress or give up on a dream to change their life because it seems to difficult. I had worked with horse industry for many years as my first career. When i started on my journey to change career to become a psychologist in 2003 i began to work with companies where often the environment and the way they treated staff was very toxic and stressful. This is still a reality in many workplaces and peoples lives and i wanted to be able to offer more one to one support for people struggling to cope and try to help them before they end up leaving their jobs with the ill health that is a symptom of long term stress.
I bring together the science and put it into practise to help my clients develop a plan of action to work through as we move things in a more positive direction. As a Chartered Coaching Psychologist i have to stay abreast of the latest research findings and work within ethical guidelines. I use this knowledge in a practical way that helps people develop clearer thinking about their issues and a realistic plan to make the changes they want to make. I have helped many clients move their life on to a more productive, yet less stressful track and i am confident how ever you feel right now you will feel much better when you start to take control and change the issues you are not happy with. I offer a free introductory session to all new clients to see if we want to work together so nothing to lose in making contact.
