Our chef was amazing. The food he prepared and served was done in a timely fashion and then he took the time between each course to explain exactly what the course consisted off. The smells coming from our kitchen added to the anticipation of what we was going to be served.
We had the taster 10 menu as it was my 60th birthday treat for my husband. We had enough time In between before the next course arrived and he always checked if we was ready for it. At the end of the meal everything was washed up and the dishwasher loaded and kitchen left as he found it.
Due to covid restrictions we felt very safe and he wore a face shield and gloves at all times.
From the booking to the day it went exceptionally well.
To sum up the dining experience in the words of my husband it was just like eating in a top class restaurant with the food and service.

I confirmed my event on line and discussed final details with Rupert concerning the menu who was really helpful and lovely to speak with. His communication was prompt and efficient. Even when we had to change the venue at the last minute Rupert was not phased. They arrived on time, displayed the food amazingly and served efficiently, they were all lovely. They even managed when I introduced them to my kitchen which is essentially in a building site. And they left my kitchen spotless. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but it was wonderful restaurant service in the comfort of our home. We started with delicious canapés which was a delightful surprise and then sat at the table for our incredible 3 course meal. I specialise in 'New American' cuisine which is a fusion of traditional southern american food with refined Mediterranean flavors and techniques. My main aim to create delicious food regardless of country of origin. Some of my favourite dishes are:
Hanger steak with chimichurri sauce
Portuguese style chicken with paprika, lemon and oregano
Peach salad with, rocket, blue cheese, pickled shallots, and hazelnuts
Bulgar wheat salad with roasted Mediterranean vegetables and herb dressing
'Elvis Presley' Pavlova with cocoa meringue, peanut butter mousse, salted caramel, bananas, and roasted peanuts
First, I would ask about the budget they have for catering for their event. Then, I would ask them what sort of event do they need food for and help decide the type of menu needed for the event: i.e. canapes, or a sit down three course menu.
Second, I would urge them to look at the existing sample menus on my website for the chosen type of event (canapes, buffet, or sit down dinner) to help start the collaborative process on choosing a menu. I will help guide them through these menus and choose what items would work best for their event, but also suggest bespoke items if the client desired a specific dishes or needs to cater to dietary restrictions.
I started cooking when I was a teenager and fell in love with the process. It seemed to have an immediate effect on people's daily lives. I love being able to make people happy through the power of delicious food.
I always wanted to create my own voice in the food industry, so creating a business was the next thing for me to do. I worked in restaurants as a chef for many years, but ultimately wanted to create something for myself. Educated Cooking is not just for catering, but also a cookery school where I will run classes to teach people the power of delicious food. My aim, with Educated Cooking, is to create a community of food lovers that have a home to come to, either to learn how to cook or find an amazing caterer.
