What’s your signature dish?

If I was to choose a signature dish from our Mediterranean wraps, it would certainly be our Lamb and Chicken Specials; tender pieces of marinated lamb and chicken of lemon and herbs with Pastourma a Cypriot spicy sausage with Halloumi, accompanied with our Green Dips, olives and Chilli peppers.
The other dish would have to be our homemade spanakopita. Filo pastry with spinach, feta, parsley hints of lemon.

How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?

It’s so important for us to be on the same page as our clients. We want to make their event that extra bit special. We can only do this by understanding what our clients expect from us.
Through our experience and working with our clients requirements, we would then recommend a menu that is suited to their event.

What do you love most about your job?

Running a small family business can be tough, but it also makes it that more personal and the determination to be successful.
I have learnt to make many dishes from my mother in law. Kyri, my husband has been brought up cooking Souvla on the BBQ and now our two beautiful boys are learning to make the same recipes that we have been taught.
That makes me super proud to be part of Smok’n Greek BBQ.
After all the hard work is done, the most thing we love about the events that we catered at. Is the positive feedback we get from our clients. This is why we go that extra mile… with our food, professional friendly service and attention to detail.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Kyri my husband, Director of Smok’n Greek BBQ always love to cook for friends and family.
And he was always overwhelmed by the compliments that he received.
It was always a dream of us to start up a catering company, so that we could pass on the knowledge that we have been given to by our parents.
Cyprus is a wonderful country with great food and hospitality so this is one of reasons that really inspired us to start a business. It is to bring the wonderful flavour of the Mediterranean to a wider audience.

Why should our clients choose you?

I think that our services are a little bit different to many other catering services.
We are not only a Greek/Cyrpriot barbecue catering company.
With our wide range of traditional and home-made dishes, we like to think that we can offer a complete Mediterranean dining experience.
We always listen to our clients. We realise that choosing a catering company can be expensive. This is why we take the time to talk through the types of menus that we offer and we try to work within our clients budgets.
I think we make it that little bit extra special by working with the clients, such as personalising their menu to reflect the theme of their event.

When necessary, we would offer our advice based on our previous experience to help our clients choose a menu that is suited to their event.


Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

We do not offer our services remotely.
However, we have the experience of running a takeaway service during lockdown. This was a great opportunity for us to offer other menu options which are now offered as part of our menus.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Yes, as well as the risk assessments that we carry out for each event, we have also updated our risk assessment in light of the risk associated to COVID-19.
