It all depends on what the time restraints are. Sometimes we can only work during certain hours of the day, and sometimes a customer needs a construction job completed in a certain amount of weeks. In every case, we work with the customer to create a job schedule that works for everyone. That can mean allocating more workers to the job, contracting out certain services, or simply managing the customer’s expectations. Whatever agreement we come to, we never compromise on the quality of our work.
Again, it all depends on the job in question. As general builders, we provide a wide variety of building services. From bricklaying to tiling, carpentry to plastering, we have the skills and craftsmanship to pretty much do most building work. However, it’s sometimes necessary to bring in contractors, either because of time constraints or for their specialist services. This is typically the case for plumbers, electricians, architects, and construction engineers.
While there are many qualifications and certifications within the wider construction industry, there’s no obligatory qualification that’s required for general building work. The most important qualification that any type of builder should have is a CSCS Card. This card covers the fundamentals of health and safety while on a construction site. Everyone from the labourers to the contractors should have a CSCS Card to ensure the highest level of safety for the duration of the building work. You should ideally also look out for building companies with an NVQ Level 3 and Asbestos Licence. While not required by law, they are a great indicator of trustworthy and professional building contractors.
