GBH Big Band is made up of professional musicians from Bath, Bristol and Wiltshire playing both conventional big band repertoire and more unusual projects - Ellington's Nutcracker Suite, Stravinsky's Ebony Concerto (written for the Woody Herman Band) and Paul Hart's Concerto for guitar and jazz orchestra (a bigger version of a big band!). Recent highlights include the UK Premiere of Nils Lindberg's A Christmas Cantata with Cantamus Chamber Choir featuring Jason Rebello on piano and in 2019 the Duke Ellington Sacred Concert at the Wiltshire Music Centre with a choir of 95, soloist Tina May and another sell out audience.
