Hello, my name is Chris Madden and I am an Integrative Counselling Psychotherapist; it’s a bit of a tongue twister but essentially means that I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore a present difficulty. This will be done at your pace, in a collaborative way, helping you to explore or identify the stuff that might not be working for you and to navigate a new way of being – with more choices.

Counselling can help shape your perspective into a healthy and productive mindset. Whether it’s your career, your relationships, or anything else that’s important to you, we’ll work together to develop the habits and skills to effectively deal with the challenges and emotional moments in life. Integrative Counselling means using the right resources to suit your needs, so rather than sticking to a single approach, I use different techniques in order to apply the strategy that works for you.

My name is Andy and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor. I strongly believe that we all have the ability to navigate the challenges life provides by drawing on our own experience and capabilities. As a person-centred counsellor, my role is to enable clients to explore whatever they choose to bring to sessions in order to gain a deeper understanding of how it is impacting them and enabling them to create positive change.

Andy is a fantastic counsellor. Posting under an alias to protect my identity but I had to leave a review of his counselling. I have seen many counsellors over the years and I have never been able to be as open and as brutally honest with anyone or even myself. Andy never pushes anything and leaves it up to you to bring things up. He never seems to forget anything you tell him and always seems to understand how it may affect you. The brilliant thing I have found is that the more open you are as a person then the more understanding and help he can provide or point you to. My only negative is as it’s a zoom session I think he uses his mobile to text people or read messages sometimes. I find that hard as I feel I am boring or not worth listening to… however he always seems to know what you are saying so he must still be listening. I guess it’s just a frustration at times. However I would never let this put you off seeing Andy as a counsellor as he has helped me more than I thought I could achieve. Absolutely no problems fully recommending him if you are looking for support and a space to sort your thoughts and feelings out. If you read this - thank you Andy for all your help over the weeks. Top bloke, too counsellor - just keep your phone turned off 👍🏻

Making the first step and looking for a counsellor to work with can feel scary and overwhelming. It’s hard to know what to say or what to expect, especially if you have not had counselling before. Building a safe and trusting relationship with your counsellor is important. It can take time to do this, but it is important that you feel comfortable enough with them in the beginning to start on that journey.
