Don't use Hover. Don't use Mailchimp. They will both do things without your permission. Mailchimp transferred my domain to Hover without me having any say in whether I wanted to have anything to do with Hover or not. On Mailchimp I had my domain set to not auto renew because I do not want my domain any more. Hover not only now has my domain, Hover is telling me via email that it will auto renew when it expires on 2024-05-10. I've never given Hover any permission to do anything, I've never opened an account with them, so I cannot access the Hover control panel to stop the auto renewal. I do not want to renew my domain. Hover set my domain to auto renew without my permission or knowledge. It's going to auto renew without my permission in the next two days. I cannot get hold of Hover, I have submitted a support ticket and got an auto reply that they cannot keep up with support tickets and it will take longer than 24 hours to get back to me. I strongly recommend that you do not ever have anything whatsoever to do with Hover. Also, do not use Mailchimp, because if Hover has my bank details, it's because Mailchimp gave them my bank details without my permission to do so. I have never given Hover my bank details or permission to use my bank details. Both companies have acted without my permission and completely unethically. The actual technology and infrastructure is solid but for some reason I have tried every way available to get their support, via chat, email, support tickets but there is no reply. I am very tech savvy so I can assure you that my claim does not reflect a lack of understanding on my part that might require me to look at my spam folder or any of that. They simply don’t reply. Been dealing with a cancer diagnosis so I was disregarding emails that said my domain was expiring… didn’t think I needed to. “Let it expire” I thought. I called to cancel a day before my domain expired but was told it was “too late, it automatically renewed and we’ve already charged. I am very disappointed with the service regarding the transfer of my domain to Hover from Vista. It was not a transfer of choice. I however trusted that the quality of service I enjoyed with Vista would be the same if not better. I was in for a rocky start. First I could not access my business email account for more than four days. I chose to chat with customer service. The customer service agent was completely unhelpful so I asked to speak to someone on the phone as a matter of urgency; as my clients were not getting responses to their emails to confirm their appointments. The customer service agent furnished me with a number that was presumably a free toll number. I called the support service, spoke for 30mins and was charged £117 by my provider. At no point was I told this was a chargeable number. I raised this with the customer services team and got it escalated to a supervisor. In summary, he said sorry and would credit my hover account with $50 towards future renewals. My response was that I needed the money taken from me refunded as it was due to the incompetency of their agent. I was then told that at the time the agent provided me with the number, he did not know where I was calling from. This is concerning as the agent identified me; my address details are on my domain page etc. I find this fraudulent, incompetent, and unethical business practice. Despite that auto-renew has been set to off a couple of months ago and meanwhile the renew date expired, I keep getting mails about that domain. This is harassing customers and nothing else. If I wanted to limit my mailbox (from another domain), I would have to backup all my mails for something that simple.
