Happy to travel reasonable distances as face to face contact is always preferable however remote sessions can and are used to replace or supplement the design and build process.

Design
From small to large domestic plots Pen & Barrow offers a comprehensive garden design service. Once surveyed we create models of each of our schemes allowing clients to fully appreciate our concepts from whatever vantage point they choose.
Groundworks
For those tired of their existing plot or with challenging topography our ground shaping, levelling and clearance is all carried out by experienced ground workers using heavy plant or by hand depending on site access and scale.
Horizontal
Experienced in the construction of paved areas, paths, patios or wood/composite decking, Pen & Barrow are able to create and build your horizontal spaces by using different techniques from paving, brick and block work, concrete or resin to create harmony and practicality and transform your garden and the way you use it.
Vertical
Whether your scheme uses planters, walls, fencing or edging details, Pen & Barrow provide a range of material options from Cor-ten steel edging and raised planters to dry stone walling and rendered block-work. Combine these with your paving to create clear zoning and enhance your scheme and bring plants and trees into the centre of your scheme.
Water
Water features, rills or ponds bring another dimension to the garden and play with the human senses offering a form of sound insulation in sound polluted environments and strong contrasting hard and soft features in any garden.
