The ONE plate, ONE folk concept - your guests have to juggle a lot: a drink, their food, and sparkling conversation with everyone else present. We don't make it harder for them with multiple bowls, plates etc. The one plate, one folk concept allows your guests to roam to the buffet table and indulge as often as they like, allowing for a more social event.

I have always had a passion for food since I was a child. Learning how to cook from all of the women in my family, my Mum, My Gran and my Nan were my biggest influences. I live, eat, sleep thinking about new recipes, my next orders and I am always excited about clients tasting my food.

Our food represents a mix of ethnicity, culture, habit, craving and each dish has its own unique identity. At Lal's Kitchen our dishes have been in our family for generations. From learning how to make cricket teas from my Mum, to Aunties teaching me how to make Thai fish cakes, to uncles encouraging me to develop new indo-chinese recipes! We love making such a great mix of world food.

Generations of Patel's have taught us the simple way of cooking. Today, we still use our ancestors unique blends of spices which has been passed down through generations of Grandmothers, Mother's, Masi's and even Grandfathers adaptions of family dishes.

Lal's Kitche has been a side hustle so many years. We started way back in the 80's providing Tea's for cricket players which continued through to 2019. Previously, we also made celebration cakes and wedding cakes. This was whilst working full time in Marketing and Finance.

After working over 11 years in Senior Marketing roles, I decided it was time to follow my passion full-time. Sadly, my Dad passed away in 2019 and I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Ths gave me the big push to pursue my dream in having my own catering company. The company is named Lal's Kitchen after my Dad and my Nephews middle name is Lal. Still to this day, the business operates from 'Lal's Kitchen' which he built in the early 80s! Which definitely feels great with all the memories of all the catering and food which has been rustled up for events over the years.

Whether you love all food or you are a picky eater, we cater for everyone. Make sure you are picky when it comes to hiring us. After all, the event is about you and your guests’ experience.

We've already catered for most venues in Luton, Bedfordshire and its surrounding areas - which means you can leave us to set up and deliver.
We clear up all of our dishes the day after, which means no washing up for you!

We only deliver freshly cooked buffets which are prepared in our own facilities - we ensure we comply with the highest standards for food hygiene and our chefs have passed their food hygiene certifications and renew them every two years.

We did not operate during covid other than for meal prep services, which was collection only.
