CB Heat Pumps we’re recommended by my energy supplier EDF which initially made me suspicious but having contacted them it was clear that they were extremely professional and I felt I was in good hands. The team worked hard and quickly and the pump and radiators were up and running in 4 days. It took another 3 to 4 days to finish the work completely as 2 radiators arrived late but this wasn’t a problem. A warning light came on after the work was completed but the plumber dropped in and fixed the minor problem which had not impacted the provision of heat or hot water. More...

Superb from start to finish. I was directed through EDF to CB heating so slightly nervous in that I hadn't heard of them before but I cannot fault anything. Survey was great and was given the best solution for a tricky situation in that it was a mid terraced house and the close proximity of boundaries and neighbours but they came up with the air source heat pump being located to the bottom of garden with pipework run underground back into house. Installer was great and have always been able to contact someone with any queries. Thanks again CB heating More...

called CB Heating for advice and clarification regarding the estimate I received via EDF for an air-source pump. The gentleman I spoke to could not have been more helpful and there was no feeling of being 'sold' to, which was very refreshing. I have no experience to date of this type of heating and he was extremely patient and explained how the system works. He seemed to be able to put himself in my position and was just objective and wanted to help me to understand. I am not at all technically minded but I learned a great deal in a few minutes, and I shall have every confidence in using CB for my installation. More...

Making the move to an Air Source Heat Pump was a big decision for us. We were directed to CB Heating from the EDF website. We felt this would offer us a reputable and reliable service. We have not been disappointed.
We had multiple contacts over our journey with CB Heating via email and phone appointments. In particular I would like to thank Ramya for her patience and on going support even after installation.
CB Heating made our journey easier by arranging the Energy Performance Certification, Boiler Upgrade Scheme Voucher and logistics.
The EPC required some radiator upgrades to the house. Which we had to organise. Fortunately the approved installer Andy was able to facilitate these upgrades privately.
The installation itself took 4 days. We were only ever without water for short periods of time. Andy’s team worked hard, were punctual and tidied after themselves.
We have since had the gas meter removed and replaced the gas cooker with electric.
The Air Pump is not as noisy as I expected, so far. The summer has not required us to use the heating yet. However the setting up of the hydro box settings has not been plain sailing. The installation and operating manuals require some study and usage of technical jargon. I’m getting there. A very useful function on the hydro box is the “breadcrumbs”. It’s a feature that allows you to be guided through the various menus using screen numbers that correspond to the manuals.
We’ve had to have Andy back a few times to tweek with the settings but the hot water (DHW) works well. The central heating (Space Heating) does work but we’ve not had much use yet and again there are settings to get familiar with.
I still find it amazing how cold it is standing in front of the air source heat pump outside in all weathers.
Some downsides are a large volume of exposed insulated pipe work, junction box and industrial looking isolation switches in the utilty room.
I feel it will still take me until next year to understand and operate the system fully. But I know that I can still contact Andy or CB Heating for their support.

The ASHP installation scheme was put forward by my electricity supplier EDF.
EDF put me in contact with CB Heating who designed the system in accordance with my wishes and home layout.
The installers turned up on time on the day we had arranged.
The work was carried out smartly and efficiently and answered all my questions.
The only comment I would make is that it would have been useful to have received information about the sequence of the work. (eg when the water would be turned off)
At the outset I was told the installation might take upto five days. It was completed in two.

Overall I am very pleased with the Heat Pump. I came to CB Systems through my energy provider EDF. The service has been excellent. Any queries I had were always explained. Grant Fletcher and his installation team were good and efficient. They left my house, inside and outside, clean and back to normal.

I now have a house which will be fully heated and warm during the colder months. I am also happy with the water heater. The Daiken Heat Pump is quieter than I expected and looks very smart at the side of the house.

One big thank you for the way the installation guys who were able to put the pipe work out of site and enter it through the loft and over to the other side of the house to the Heat Pump. That was a big plus!

You can trust CB Heating to get matters done quickly and honestly.
Thorough investigation and research to get the job done. No pushy they listen. I am a 78yr old pensioner and can confidently recommend C B Heating Ltd in my case they did find our property could not accommodate the Water tank required. Within 7 days they refunded my deposit as promised if they couldn't install the Heat Pump and it's fittings
Making a change to have a Company you can really be confident to do exactly what they say will do.

Amazing service from start to finish with honesty and transparency! With thanks to Nick the consultant who patiently answered numerous questions and was a star advising on the quality and detail of the system, providing great advice on my Rads etc. A smooth journey from start to finish including both Rich and Sym the two engineers that fitted the system, nothing was too much, they both ensured that I was consulted throughout with the placing of pipes etc. giving me freedom of choice whilst advising on what would work best, nothing was too much for them. They left everything spotlessly clean and took away all the rubbish including dragging a 50yr old boiler out of the property. They were both professional and experts in their fields! I would totally recommend the company and any of these individuals to anyone considering having a HSAP fitted. More...

I had a high temperature heat pump installed, together with upgrading 7 radiators by CB Heating at the end of July. Since then the system has maintained an even temperature of 21deg C. I have solar/battery as well and the heat pump has been run off the batteries w/o incurring costs of grid supplied electricity. Very satisfied so far with the work of CB Heating and the operations to date. More...

Q&As

I started CB Heating when I was 18 years old after completing an apprenticeship. I was taught old fashioned values, things like taking your time to do a job right first time, taking pride in your work and being organised and focused. It's these core values that I engrained in my training from the very beginning. I asked myself how can I make my business different? What can I do to make my business stand out from the rest? The answer was renewables.

A lot of my competitors were only focusing on boilers and that’s why solar, thermal and heat pumps became my passion. I made it my mission to learn everything I could about these systems and be the very best I could.

I installed my first Daikin heat pump in 2001. From that day I've installed thousands of heat pumps and have built an amazing team of 140 specialists around me to make CB Heating what it is today. All that hard work led to having the support and investment from EDF, which was one of the proudest moments of my life.

Because it’s the right thing to do. It’s the right thing to do for our environment and because you would be future-proofing your home by decarbonising your heating system.

I lived in a 1970s 4 bed detached home without any insulation upgrades at the time and replaced my gas boiler with a heat pump. The heat pump worked amazingly especially since I managed to not upgrade any radiators. My heat pump worked well in the "Beast of the East" at -11°C and still heated my home to 22°C. Did my electricity bills increase? Yes of course they did as I was using more electricity however I no longer had a gas bill or a standing charge for my gas! Overall I was slightly better off by fitting a heat pump.

I've since added solar panels and battery storage and found this is a great combination with a heat pump as I can now run my heat pump and entire home with an off peak tariff most of the time. Furthermore, in the Summer when I'm generating large volumes of electricity from the solar, I'm being paid for it!

So in short, the bigger picture for home decarbonisation in my view is self-sustainability, by removing my reliance on gas and powering my home with electricity when it's at its cheapest. So investing in a heat pump is part of a bigger picture, how far you take it is up to you.

Over a 12 month period, I'm still paying for electricity from the grid at off peak times in the Winter but I'm also selling it back to the grid in the Summer to offset the Winter costs. This means my energy costs over a 12 month period to heat and power my home are drastically reduced to the point where I pay almost nothing to have a home that’s always above 21°C and has all the power I need for a busy family home.

Services

Heat pumps keep you warm, not the planet.

Air source heat pumps are an innovative, energy-efficient way to heat your home.

Home heat pumps work by absorbing energy from the air outside and converting it to heat your home and hot water, even in temperatures below freezing.

Heat pumps, including air source varieties, transfer energy rather than creating it. You may already know that energy is never created or lost, but simply moved. When heating your home using something like a wood burner, fireplace, or a gas/oil boiler, you’re relying on the energy stored in those materials for the heat.

Traditional heating methods like wood burners or gas boilers release stored energy through combustion, which contributes to climate change. Heat pumps avoid this by simply moving heat from one place to another.
