Dog Training

When we decided to have our GSD puppy it was essential we put the right foundations in place from the start. Having 3 small children I wanted to ensure the right training methods were in place from the start. As GS puppies need to start training at 8 weeks this is often before group puppy classes. I contacted Kerry and picked the 1:1 training package. Kerry visited in our home and after an initial telephone consultation agreed a training plan that would work for our puppy and our family. Kerry attended our home and provided initial puppy training. The sessions were so beneficial in building my confidence, creating strong partnership bond with our puppy and encouraging good behaviour. Training is delivered in positive reinforcement methods. My puppy was very receptive and enjoyed each of the sessions. He was also exhausted after each 30 minute session. I have recommended Kerry to several friends ad highly recommend the puppy classes also. Definitely worth the 1:1 sessions we have the confidence to continue training and a delightful dog due to the positive reinforcement methods we use. Thanks connected behaviour More...

I can’t say my experience with Connect Behaviour has been a good one. We came with a specific goal to help Pippa become more comfortable around other dogs, and spent all of our 1-to-1s doing ‘sit’ and ‘down’ which she already knew. I was told that she would see a therapy dog in the initial package I booked, but that never happened. I also didn’t appreciate how they went onto my personal social media, took a photo of Pippa without my permission, and made a TikTok for a publicity stunt that was misinformed. They claimed that, due to their training and under their instruction, she is now actively going up to new dogs and people which has NEVER been the case. They also claimed in other posts that Pippa was so scared of everything that we as her owners were forced to pick her up when we went outside. That was also not true. In my first session with Kerry she TOLD me to carry Pippa as we were going to start again. These details are misinformation used to exaggerate the progress that they made with Pippa. All of the people that know her, family and friends alike, have commented that they see very little difference in her. It feels like they drag training out to get you to pay for more packages rather than directly addressing the problem, or at least communicating a clear plan for your dog - if I knew exactly why we were doing the things we were doing, and knew how that was going to be built upon in future sessions that I had already payed for, then it wouldn’t have been so bad. Communication is also awful. You’re only guaranteed a reply when it’s to do with money, otherwise you’re left on read and then completely forgotten about, and you have to constantly chase it up with them. It’s not run much like a business at all. Not professional in the slightest. Would not recommend for 1-to-1s at all. The puppy classes are okay if that’s what you’re there to do. I was also told by Kerry that she would refund me for a session that SHE cancelled IF I deleted my negative review - the screenshot can be found on my review left on their Facebook page, as well as picking apart the lies. Unfortunately this review is sadly a lie and we have reported this lady. We have proof of the text messages with feedback on how well Pip was doing, Pip had already seen 4 other trainers before us all of which we were told they had bad experiences with. Pip atteneded one to ones and classes where both us trainers saw her go from a shaking scared little dog, to being able to join a group class and initiate interaction- sadly the owner went away and missed classes of which we said she can retake but we couldn’t refund as a space was taken in the class & due to the heat of a 1:1 session being above 25oc we had to postpone (for the safety of the dog)of which she started to become abusive over messages. I feel this review is unfair and incorrect
