First time dog owners, so we were very apprehensive sending our pup to boarding. Particularly over the Christmas period. But this has been a wonderful experience for us and our 5m old Golden Retriever, Charlie. Ruth, Abbie & Kerry and another gentleman (whose name I didn’t get) have been absolutely fantastic. Very reassuring, knowledgeable. contact via WhatsApp so they were able to send photos and updates. The fact it’s owned by vets is of great reassurance for us. Burnside looked after our four dogs when we went on holiday. They weren’t just looked after when we were away, they were loved. The Team got to know our dogs and spent a lot of time playing, walking and just being in their company. The affection they had for our dogs was mutual and it was obvious how much our dogs enjoyed their company and trusted them. Lovely staff and well looked after. Burnside pet retreat has been great. They managed to take our Springer Spaniel (Astrid) at short notice in July after being let down elsewhere and she has been back 2 more times since then. The booking and communication process is easy and straightforward and the deposit process is fair. Astrid has always been a little nervous around big dogs that bark a lot, which is expected in kennels, but the team must make her feel so at ease because she is always excited to go back. The last time we dropped her off she started crying and jumping around the boot because she couldn't wait to go in - that's the best review you can get! Highly recommend Burnside Pet Retreat Can’t thank Kerry and all the team enough for looking after Luna . Having never used dog boarding before I was super anxious but Kerry and all the staff were so knowledgeable and lovely that they quickly put not only myself but Luna at ease . We have never boarded our dog before, and were really apprehensive about doing so. However, after coming across Burnside Pet Retreat, there was no need to be. Ruth totally put our minds at ease on WhatsApp and answered all our questions. We also went to visit beforehand and met Ruth and Kerry. When I didn’t see pictures of Monty on Facebook I messaged Ruth to check he was ok - turns out he was having that much fun running around the secure paddock they just couldn’t get a good picture of him! But I did get an in depth update and some pictures sent later in the day which totally put my mind at ease. Monty was booked in for 3 weeks but I messaged towards the end to arrange early collection by my parents. This was easily done, and my mum was shown lots of pictures of Monty having fun when she collected him. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again and have already recommended to my friends. More...

My XL bully and standard poodle stayed here for a week . I left knowing they were in safe capable hands. I have just collected my pride and joy up from a wee overnight stay at Burnside and I am delighted with the service received. Anyone that knows me knows how much my wee dog means to me as many others will feel and to leave her is very difficult. I was very apprehensive and worried and all for nothing Piper seems to have had the best time enjoyed playing outside and was extremely happy when I went in to pick her up. She was even giving the staff kisses before we went home. Would highly recommend Burnside Pet Retreat! My 2 long haired chihuahuas stayed for 15 nights and they were well looked after, they can be very anxious and scared at times but the staff took time out their busy days to give them one on one care which I really appreciate!
