Music First provides live sound including PA hire, sound engineering and get-in / get-out for all sizes of event, supporting bands, concerts, festivals, open mic nights and any other sort of music event. We also provide more general PA for public events, indoors and out, corporate and public. This includes parties, conferences, stage and theatre shows, public meetings and sporting events. We offer special rates for charity and fundraising events. For private events, we can provide disco equipment including full digital audio and lighting, up to full mobile disco service with a DJ. Again this can be indoors or out, at any size of event from a home garden party up to a giant wedding celebration. We prefer to serve you and make sure everything is perfect, but if you just want equipment hire we have everything you need for the perfect event. Above all, we remember this is your event and we are here to provide you a service. Before we accept any offer of hire we will want to talk with you about your event, your aims and what you want. If it is music based we have a collection of thousands of tracks dating from pre-1950s to the latest promo chart and club releases, updated every week. What drives us is quality. It is not just how much noise you can create in a space, but the right type of noise at the right volume. You do not want feedback in the middle of a speech or performance, you don't want to be deafened at a disco but you should be able to feel the music. You want to hear the vocalist, not just a booming backing track. Years of experience running live events mean we understand different acoustic environments and purposes and will be able to specify the right PA and settings every time.

What do you love most about your job?

I love to entertain. The best discos are the ones where at the end of the night everyone has a smile on their face and looks worn-out but happy - because they've spent the night dancing and laughing and just enjoying the moment. Lots of things help that - the light show and a bit of fog or haze set the atmosphere, then the music sets the mood. You should feel the beat without being deafened all night long. The light show and the music should produce both light and shade, up and down tempo, serious dance moves and light-hearted moments.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I started Music First after about 15 years doing amateur work as a musician and a sound engineer.  With a life-long passion for music and having been involved in many church worship bands over the years, it was easy to get involved with PA and production, always striving for that better sound...  that more professional performance.  And so I started collecting PA gear - speakers, fold-backs, amps, mixing desks, mics, radio gear, etc: more kit, better sound.
Almost by accident I started doing village fetes.  I turned up to one charity fayre once where my partner was running the dog show, but the PA guy was a no-show.  I shot home and grabbed some gear and for the last 6 or 7 years I've become their sound guy.  From that, more bookings for fetes and recently a booking to evaluate and eventually install a new sound system for a local village Parish Church.  The rest, as they say...

As a speaker, I am always looking for good quality video content, someone who is reliable and has great camera skills and equipment. Where to start!? For anyone questioning which celebrant to go for take this as a sign to choose Danni. She was the most thoughtful, thorough, and friendliest addition to our wedding. From the first video call we knew she was going to be a part of our wedding. We met for coffee to discuss the vibes and ceremony and it just felt like a catch up with an old friend. But in that time she managed to pick up on the subtlety and specifics of our relationship which she then weaved into the perfect script for our ceremony. It was the perfect blend of romantic, whimsical, funny, personal and initmate- everything we wanted. We also requested Danni as our MC and she smashed that out of the park too- being on board with every weird and wonderful idea we had (owls ringbearers to pumpkin carving competitons). She brought such a vibe to our more casual and non traditional wedding.  She supported us in our vow writing, was there to calm down the nervous groom, and was a hit with every guest. EVERY guest asked us "how long have you been friends with Danni?" Because the way she conducted every aspect of the day with not only professionalism, charisma and such personal touches lead everyone to think we were old chums. Danni is wild in all the best ways (bundling 22 pumpkins in her car that were left over decor from the night!), she really seems to love love and people. And we love her, she became a friend instantly. If you are between two or more celebrants, stop looking. Whatever Danni charges for her amazing service when you book her- it isn't enough, her skill is priceless.
