What do you love most about your job?
I love the camaraderie that I have with my customers and the friendly smiles and even more so when it comes with the local or even international gossip and a cup of tea.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Woods Window Cleaning was founded by my grandfather over 90 years ago, when he returned from the First World War. His two daughters joined him and they worked the rounds together. After my grandfather retired, his daughters carried on.
My father joined his sisters after he returned from the Second World War and picked up the gauntlet and worked the rounds with them. After they retired my father carried on the rounds alone. At this time I worked in the building trade, but, when work was scarce I would work alongside my father.
My father retired and I picked up the gauntlet and now have my two sons Aaron & Cayde working alongside me.
Why should our clients choose you?
We like to think we take pride in our work and think that we are reasonably priced. We also clean the frames, sills & doors all for the same price of cleaning the windows (garage doors not included). And if that is not enough we guarantee our work, that if you are not totally satisfied we will return - hopefully within 24 hours to rectify any errors. We also take bank payment if this is easier for the customer and if you have a locked gate will text or email you the night before. We also offer a key holder service - this is for gates only. What this means is if you have a locked gate and do not want to leave it unlocked and have a spare key, we can hold the key and unlock the gate to clean your windows then relock the gate when we leave.
If you are uneasy or feel that you are vulnerable answering the door we can arrange for you to have a password that only you and your window cleaner know, this can be changed as often as you like. We can also text, email or phone a relative or a friend to notify them that we are going to clean your windows, or that we have cleaned your windows.
Another thing that sets us apart is that if your gutters or conservatory need cleaning, as long as you are one of our regular customers and that we have cleaned a minimum of 3 times then you will receive a 50% discount. For instance gutter cleaning as standard for a non customer is £15 per side, if you are a customer this would be £7.50 per side. A standard 10 x 10 ft lean to conservatory Interior & exterior including the roof, frames & sills would be £60.00, to our customers it would be £30.00. (Please note these are only examples).
