We hired Sweet as a Nut for an evening dinner for a hen weekend and it was wonderful. Matt, our chef, cooked a three course meal for us and every dish was delicious. There was 23 of us in total and everything looked perfect. The timing of food was spot on too. We had a few dietary requirements/allergies and Matt was great with this, everything was done separately. Our server for the evening, Lyn, was lovely and so accommodating. Sweet as a nut catered for our wedding and provided canapés and a 3 course meal of a goats cheese tart, chicken with the trimmings and then sticky toffee pudding. Honestly these guys absolutely smashed it! Everyone kept telling me how great the food was and how much they enjoyed it! The food at a wedding can be make or break and something people really remember and these guys helped make our day so much better. Not only that but they are so reasonably priced in comparison to a lot of other catering companies. I cannot recommend Matt and Lottie highly enough! 10/10 More...

For a special treat for a 30th birthday whilst on a long awaited family holiday for 11 of us in a converted barn in Wimborne, we hired Sweet As A Nut Catering to come in and cook a 3 course dinner for us. Lottie was very helpful on the emails and kindly allowed us to slightly amend the menu so we had a couple of choices in starters and desserts and we all enjoyed the delicious roast beef with lovely roast potato’s and gorgeous Yorkshire’s! We recently hired sweet as a nut to cater a Mexican buffet for a hen do. During the months leading up to it the communication from them was awful, there were weeks and weeks where they didn’t reply and I had sleepless nights worrying if they were even going to show up. They did show up but unfortunately the food was average and our veggie guests especially weren’t impressed. Some small changes would have made it better like seasoning the fries, providing grated cheese for the fajitas/tacos, warming the churros etc. Overall, everyone was pretty disappointed by the quality of the food considering the price we paid and one guest even described it as “a lot of money for basically old El Paso boxes”. This is the first bad review I have ever left for anybody before, I really don’t like doing it at all, but feel that I had to share our experience. I had Matt and his family provide a bbq for us in our garden for my 40th and they did a great job. Having them there meant I was stress free on the day and could just chat to our guests which was a revelation for normal hosting! There was a good choice of menus in advance and plenty of food. We had sweet as a nut cater for a family christmas gathering and it was perfect. Food was delicious, everyone was full and happy :) they even catered for myself and my son with dairy and soya allergies and made the most amazing ice cream especially for us! Service was prompt and the team was friendly and tidy. I would 100% use Matt and the team again and would recommend for anybody looking for caterers (as a side note I’ve also since discovered that they catered at my hen do [a bbq on Bournemouth beach] back in 2016 and I remember that food being spot on as well!!) We booked Sweet As A Nut for a birthday celebration whilst self-catering on holiday, liaising with Matthew and Lottie throughout the process. A meal for 6 adults and 2 children.We worked through menu selection in advance and made our choices from across a couple of their ranges. They provided some additional options to suit our tastes. A couple of gaps in communication during the planning (due to other client commitments) but we had allowed enough lead time so no issue.It was a bit daunting not knowing who was going to arrived (and indeed if they would actually turn up). But on the day Matthew and his assistant arrived on time and set to work quickly, efficiently and quietly in the kitchen leaving us to enjoy our pre dinner drinks (self provided). They had brought everything they needed (except a freezer for the ice cream but we had space) and did not disturb us at all. The meal was served at the desired time and professionally done, checking in on each course midway through. The food itself received no complaints....it was well cooked and tasty. And come the end of service the kitchen was left cleaner than when they arrived.In house dining was a great option for a private celebration, and saved us finding a babysitter for the baby. And if I’m honest £260 for a customised 3 course meal for 6+2 was far better value than I had expected. Would for sure use the team again if we were in the area. More...

Wow, what can i say! these people were very accommodating when our circumstances changed, they custom made a menu to fit our needs, it was easy and hassle free to book with them, thanks Lottie, they came and made a 3 course meal at the house that we rented for the weekend, they arrived with plenty of time, and they made the whole afternoon a relaxing one,they even took care of the washing of the pots, and tiding up, nothing was too much trouble, Thanks Matthew and Lyn, its a shame we didn't live closer because i would defiantly use them again, for anybody that is within their area i would have no doubt in recommending them to you!
