We were lucky enough to have Jon from Redline DJs at our wedding last weekend and it couldn’t have gone better. Jon helped us curate the most perfect playlist for us and for our guests keeping the dance floor alive all night. As soon as we had our first meeting with Jon it was clear we had made the right choice, Jon was always on hand to ask questions & bounce ideas off - no matter how crazy they were! The result was a perfect mix of songs that went down a treat with our guests. When it came to the last song we weren’t ready for it to end and we could have carried on for another couple of hours! We also had the most talented saxophonist, Anna, play alongside the music for 2 x 45 minute sets. WOW! Wow oh wow! If we could give 6 stars, we would. We hired RedLine for our London wedding and we could not have been happier. Although Jon was unable to DJ for our wedding, we had the privelege of having Vicki spin the decks for us. She was absolutely brilliant and nailed the vibe that we wanted for our evening party. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
- Knowing your audience and always choosing a record for them and never for yourself.
- Look at your crowd during every song you play to see how the dance floor is reacting.
- Always think two steps ahead of the dance floor
- Never be afraid to cut a song short if it's not working
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Our style is whatever our customer wants at their party or event and we take a huge amount of pride in being able to offer a vast range of musical styles depending on what each customer would like.
If you’d like a wedding playlist filled with 90s indie classics – no problem. A birthday party covering everything from uptempo, contemporary pop through to disco and classic R&B? We’ve got you covered. If you’d like a retro themed day with a dance floor getting down to Elvis, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry, we’re your guys.
What do you love most about your job?
Music is my world and I consider myself incredibly lucky to be making a living from that passion.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I spent many years working within various different areas of the music industry but DJing is where my passion truly lies. I started RedLine after listening to a particularly bad wedding DJ and decided that I’d had enough of going to events where the entire day was ruined by low quality entertainment. The cheesy wedding DJ is an enduring fixture at Weddings, Christmas Parties and Birthdays but I am on a mission to ensure that those kinds of DJs are consigned to the past.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because we make it our highest priority to deliver whatever you do or do not want to hear on your day, because that is exactly what it is; your day. We believe that the DJ should perfectly complement the rest of your event and perfectly reflect what you would like to hear.
We are perfectionists when it comes to compiling setlists, reading the dancefloor and making sure that the right song is mixed and played at exactly the right time. We have an ever expanding song list of over 50,000 tracks to choose from and we guarantee that no matter how obscure the song is that you’d like played, we will find it and add it to your personalised collection for the night. We are constantly updating our music, so we always have a strong selection of chart tracks to pick from as well.
