I studied the week long Prince 2 Foundation & Practitioner course with Knowledgetrain.. The course is hard for someone who is relatively new to project management, but I cannot fault the training that allowed me to pass the exam. The trainer was friendly, personable, very knowledgeable, and did not give us death my PowerPoint. Working for a university I know what makes a good teacher and he was one. In addition the before and after communication with KnowledgeTrain was excellent. I did my research and the positive reviews certainly reflected the experience that I had with them. I am thinking of doing an Agile course in the future and if I do I will go back to them. In addition the location and quality of the training room is good, in central London near Farringdon. Can wholeheartedly recommend Knowledge Train. After a very bad experience with another training company Knowledge Train at very short notice managed to enrol me on a Prince2 course the following week with confirmations of exam registration details arriving almost immediately. I would definitely recommend Knowledge Train for the 4.5 day Prince2 foundation and practitioner course. Our tutor, Susan was able to bring the project management concepts alive by using relatable examples and sharing her own extensive experience. Susan made the course interesting and also was excellent at making sure content was relevant/ tailored to the different roles/ industries participants worked in. The materials provided by KT were excellent and allowed for more digestible learning rather than simply using the Prince2 book. I have just completed the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner online courses. I have a mixed review, though, for the courses. For the Foundation level online course, the structure content and online tests were pretty much on point, and I managed to successfully complete it within a pretty short period, as the information was easy to digest and made pretty good sense. However, I would suggest that the material on the processes section was a bit thin, and could do with a little more focused attention. For the Practitioner level online course, I must admit that the material did not capture my attention for too long. I found it monotonous and not engaging, that is until the exercises were applicable. Having said that, once I completed the course material, I was in no way confident that I would be able to get through the Practitioner level exam on the first try. I went online, found supplementary study notes from a variety of other online delivery methods, and used those to fill in the gaps. I thankfully managed to pass the exam on a first attempt. I would propose that the Practitioner level course delivery be more interactive, i.e. online classroom setup, just to assist in understanding the similarities and discussing the differences. Unfortunately, although there are justifications why certain answers are not applicable, this is not always clear, and discussion forums would make this easier to understand. Despite that, I would still recommend Knowledge Train for their support and assistance in the administration of the course and exams process. More...
