Mathew is a wonderful trainer with 100% positive reward ethos, he is very patient and calm.
Our puppy and older dog have come on leaps and bounds even when we thought our older couldn't be retrained he showed us he could with patience and routine, he adapted the training to suit him and demonstrated the techniques to us so we could keep up his good work and for our very excited puppy matthew has made it more enjoyable showing us great calming techniques also answering my many questions and giving advice that actually works helping us to have a happy home life.
The bond I have with our puppy is growing every day.

My brother and I have been doing dog training with Mathew over the summer. This was the first time we have trained with Mathew, and I was genuinely surprised. The end result of the training was excellent, with our dog now coming back to us far more often, as well as doing some very appealing tricks such as spinning, touching our hand with his nose for recall purposes, and giving us his paw. We love playing with our dog and Mathew provided more ways for us to interact and teach our dog. I honestly believe that doing dog training with Mathew is a must do if you also have a dog, due to his unique ability to connect with dogs and clearly tell us owners how best to help and train our dogs. I 100% recommend that you use Mathew as your dog trainer. We learnt so much from him and I’m sure you will too.

We’ve always had big dogs before we got our miniature Bull Terrier and I thought that surely a smaller dog would be easier to handle than a ‘proper’ dog. .?
Mistake number one – Bull Terriers are not really a dog; they are more like a stroppy teenager in the shape of a four legged fur-baby. They are the most loving, loyal, funny, lazy and obstinate dog on the planet.
Mistake number two – thinking I could train it. My experience alone wasn’t going to cut it – I needed someone who understood the mindset of this Bullie who would look at me like I was the centre of her universe one minute and then go haring off with some random dog and owner the next.
This is where 2-plus-4 Legs came to the rescue. Matthew took us right back to basics with her - she was 18 months at the time. He helped us understand that the most important part of training was for us to go at her pace, not to rush her, not to set her up to fail and most of all appreciate how she learned and responded. His insight into her psychology was invaluable in getting her to where we needed to be. Her recall went from non-existent to near perfect under Matthews guidance, which was all done remotely via video and messaging. There are still some occasions when she simply cannot resist a play with another dog!

We have a 14-week old labrador, Beritie, and have been using Matthew's services to support us in training him. Matthew clearly loves animals and, based on Bertie's reaction, the feeling is reciprocated!

Matthew is extremely good at explaining not only what we should do but why, which is great in helping us to understand the various behaviours.

Matthew is extremely patient and doesn't get frustrated with mistakes being made (by us, not the puppy!). He's also very happy to provide help and guidance via phone/text in between our training sessions.

We have a 6 month old working Cocker Spaniel.

Matthew is a great trainer I have been using him for 3 weeks now to support me to train my trixie who is very anxious and had a number of different issues . He’s always at the end of the phone if I need to drop a text to ask something or gain clarification. After his initial visit we already saw an instant improvement not perfect but enough to really improve home life between me, my partner and trixie. Matthew is so friendly and approachable, you can clearly see he loves animals. My dog suffers anxiety and can be very nervous, since Matthew has been walking and training Joey he has improved in such a short amount of time. I rarely come home to mess and he seems much calmer. I rescued a dog. A 4 or 7 year old mixed breed Australian Shepherd and "who knows what" because no one at the shelter knew her name or her story. She'd been there the longest. When I walked in, dogs barked and jumped on the gates, but not Luna. Luna knew how these things went. The humans come, some dogs go, but always the chain links for Luna.

The day I met her was different. I brought her home, and began the long task of earning her trust. As progress was made, I discovered Luna was gentle, intuitive, and very loving. But playing with Luna proved problematic. She had no interest in balls, ropes, sticks, or anything with a squeaky bit in it. Our relationship had stopped progressing beyond shelter and food provider, and involuntary adoptee. That's when I turned to 2 Plus 4 Legs.

His guidance was nothing short of miraculous. Almost immediately, a deep curiosity and playfulness began to emerge in Luna, and at last I finally met the real her. We connected like never before, we spoke the same language.

There is not anyone who will look after your dog like Matthew. Kingston my young collie is in safe hands with him. He is the most special puppy with a fair amount of needs, and Matthew has made every effort possible to research and work towards making Kingston's world a happier, safer and well rounded one. There is always updates, feedback and advice available which shows the unwavering commitment Matthew has. Communication is exceptional and everything is broken down so clearly with distinct action plans and goals to work towards. I have seen an unbelievable improvement in many behaviours I often worried would hold Kingston back in life. Matthew has excellently tackled Kingston's separation anxiety, resource gaurding, car chasing and difficult recall head on. We hired Matthew from 2 plus 4 legs and he has always been so amazing!
