Have you read all the right books, tried everything you can think of, and the same negative things keep happening again and again, in your life, your career, your relationships? Svava offers private coaching for those stuck in this frustrating cycle. Experience the freedom and validation of connecting with someone who understands the pain of neglect, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, and has walked this challenging path before and found healing, and knows what tools will work for you.

Svava is amazing - full of so much love and compassion and wisdom. She has walked the walk of healing from significant childhood abuse. She is able to hold a safe space for you to be seen and heard, without shaming you. She gently encourages you, and empowers you to believe in you and care for you. As a survivor of SRA, it was important for me to build trust and rapport. Svava never rushes you or condemns you. She is also authentic about her journey and challenges. She is passionate about helping others and continues her learning to keep abreast of the latest discoveries in helping people who have experienced trauma. I highly recommend Svava. Both her one-on-one counselling and her support groups are encouraging, nurturing, safe environments.

Jackie is not your average relationship coach... She goes well beyond what is expected and seems to be fueled by the deep seated desire to help everyone find not just love but complete understanding and appreciation for their partner. I know communication and open dialogue about sensitive subjects can seem intimidating and even scary but Jackie was able to not just put me at ease, but I instantly felt I could tell her ANYTHING without judgement or catching her off guard. She is experienced, well trained, and KNOWS how to cut through the BS and get couples closer than they have EVER been before. I can't say enough about this lovely professional coach. She's just amazing!

Board-Certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) and licensed in OR, WA, and PA, I work with individuals, couples and families who want to become more solid in order to diminish anxiety and stress. I specialize in trauma recovery of all kinds, sub-specializing in the trauma recovery from sexual abuse, and I facilitate therapy groups for both men and women for a variety of issues.
I find the work of helping others heal to be extraordinarily rewarding. It's an honor and a privilege to be a character in the stories of real people as they heal.
When I was in Junior High School, I learned that counseling was a profession...and my family needed it. I knew then that I wanted to be a counselor some day. However, I got waylaid in my journey, and I first taught high school English for six years, before I took that leap into counseling. As I completed my coursework for my counseling degree, I counseled theft offenders in a cognitive restructuring program, and in January, 2004, I joined Columbia Counseling Associates. Then in July 2008, I moved into my own office, closer to the city of Portland. I describe what I do as a therapist not only as my “dream job” but as my “calling.”
I consider my own journey of healing from childhood abuse of all kinds, in the context of extreme, rigid religious and family environments, to be one of my most essential tools. In my view, a counselor is only as effective as the work she has done on herself.
