YAC Fitness is a great place for people who want a great workout atmosphere all the while feeling comfortable enough that they won't be intimidated if they're first timers. I have been a member of YAC Fitness for a little over 2 years. I began my transformation right out of high school and I have come to love this gym. I have been to the YMCA and other local gyms and none really compare to this one. First off, there is a wide selection of free wights as well as machines that give you endless options in your workouts. Space is a little limited at times but that is normally due to the the mass influx of daily visitors, roughly the 3:30 to 6 timeframe, that come to workout. I must add, if you don't already know, that this gym is open 24/7, 365 days a year which include holidays! (ex. Thanksgiving & Christmas) The facility is staffed during normal work hours and after hours requires a key to enter. There are countless surveillance cameras so you don't have to feel unsafe during the night time or when working out alone. Plus, it's in a pretty safe part of Yakima! Second, I'd say that about 90% of the people you will meet here, both clients and trainers, are extremely friendly and would gladly help you with any questions that you have. This is probably my favorite part because one does not feel intimidated as I know I have felt at other gyms. You meet tons of new, cool, people who can help guide you and give you tips so that you can reach your goal. Also, sharing stations and weights has never been an issue. Third, I do have one downside I must point out which is the price. This gym can get a little spendy especially with  add-ons like the "basic training boot camp" or "special forces" (similar to crossfit) but they are completely optional. Although it is a little expensive, there is a current promotion that allowes you to try out these add-ons to your membership for $20 dollars the first month giving you a feel for the class and its rhythm. You can attend as many classes as you'd like for the flat rate of $20! I would highly recommend doing this before committing to a three month, mandatory, contract. Also be careful when signing up as you will be under contract with the gym for one year beginning on the day you sign. Overall, I have hundreds of positive experiences I could ramble on about but come see and experience for yourself. If you can afford it, don't settle for less and come over to YAC Fitness!
