Each trainer is highly skilled in improving human motion, injury prevention and rehabilitation, and is continually provided education to ensure we provide the best experience in Portland. Our model of teaching movement is based on two main concepts: First, all of our lessons are taught barefoot. Sensory information enters the body through the foot, and from there, all other movement choices are made, which makes it absolutely essential to learn to move properly while barefoot. Second, bodies move in a very predictable way based on our dominance pattern. This is fortunate for us, as it reduces the need for the brain to be adept at using both hands to write or eat with, for example. It literally saves space in your brain! However, repeated motion on one side done improperly usually results in some pretty significant accommodations that we are trained to discover, so we may in only one session help you gain access to a clearer understanding of some of the questions you have about your body, your movements, and how you can get more out of any activities you enjoy. It’s extremely common for our clients to report an end to chronic pain from the methods we use. Plus, we are relaxed and fun.
