Park Fitness BK is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! The teachers are charismatic and dynamic--I always feel supported and challenged to do my personal best. The space has a community feel. I know that my fellow classmates are in it with me and will give me a high five when we finish something hard. Janine, the owner, is responsive and customer service focused. The facility is clean and there is a wide range of equipment. Including battle ropes! Which are super hard! But I am getting better at them all the time. I LOVE this place and I credit the Park Fitness team for helping me get back into a results-oriented fitness routine.

I was a student about 20yrs ago. ( When his location was on Bay Parkway) Trained with Sensei Ruskin for a little more than 5yrs & earned a black belt. I was always the most fit kid in class(8 pack in 5th grade). I quit around 13yrs old.I`m now in my 30s and if you would of told 10yr old me that all the sit-ups, push-ups w/ closed fist, summer beach training's, repetitive drills, reciting the Dojo oath at the beginning of each class & waking up early on Saturdays was going to prepare me for life, I would of thought you were crazy. I knew a few former students in High School that wished they never quit, me included. The man is old school in his training yet very effective. He knows what he`s doing. I`ve been in situations, during my training and afterwards, that individuals thought they could harm me but when that muscles memory kicks in and you already appear to know more than they think, it speaks volumes.I`m successful in life and many of the lessons I`ve learned in his dojo still helps me till this day. If you have children in his classes or plan to, don`t allow them to quit so easily. You are doing them & yourself a disservice.**I did not get paid/or asked to make this review. I haven`t spoken to Sensei Ruskin since I was still a kid. It`s just disheartening to see an uneducated and senseless review made about Sensei Ruskin, especially when you won`t find many Karate Dojos like his anymore.
