LIFE CHANGING! This method of training is truly essential and fundamental for building a strong body AND a strong mind. Kevin, Chris, and Mario are literally redefining the meaning of "functional strength". The training practice takes bits and pieces of ideas from existing disciplines like sport, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, weightlifting, etc.
In January 2018, I suffered from recurring back injuries from the "conventional" training I had been doing (standard bodybuilding and crossfit style gym routines, cardio sessions, yoga, etc.) I was no longer able to squat and deadlift due to my pain and lack of mobility, and I was constantly hurting myself during Brazilian JiuJitsu training (a grappling art similar to wrestling). It debilitated me to the point that I was no longer able to lift or train at all. I took a hiatus from everything I had been doing, and I began taking classes at LocoMotion 3-4 days/week from January until now (April 2018.) Last night, I went back to JiuJitsu and my teammates were astounded at how much strength and mobility I had gained over the time that I had been gone. They were all asking for my secret... I give 100% of the credit to my LocoMotion practice. Not only is the training extremely efficient and effective, but the community you find at LocoMotion is like no other. It attracts a certain crowd of like-minded individuals who are looking to better themselves and live a healthier, longer life. I firmly believe the quality of your life is directly tied to the health of your body. If you train at LocoMotion, I can guarantee you that you will make more gains in a short period of time than you have made in years of conventional training. I cannot say enough good things about the facility itself, the trainers, the Loco community, and the practice that is being taught.
This is for EVERYONE; every age, race, gender, condition, etc... Everything we do is scale-able to your current level of ability, and you will be surprised at how quickly you progress from a beginner into being able to do things you never thought you would be able to do. In just 4 months, I'm astonished at how far I have come. I am a fitness club veteran and I can say with certainty that THIS IS THE BEST FITNESS CLUB! And I am not being paid so say this. Since I was 16 years old I have belonged to pretty much every big name fitness club there is both in Maryland and NY. I have worked out at Sport and Health Club, Equinox, and my latest membership was at the "Diamond" club Lifetime Syosset (which I really disliked due to crowded classes, often closed pools due to kids going number 2 in it, and malfunctioning, dirty, bathrooms in disrepair. Since I live in Northport, it was hard to find a gym close to me that would be small enough that I would feel taken care of yet large enough where I would feel pampered by a great facility. Then, in January 2014, I got my wish. Energy Fitness and Wellness opened less than 10 minutes from me in Fort Salonga. Right away I could feel the Energy difference. Anyone who is in the Northshore close to Northport would be missing out in life not to check this place out. The membership is affordable, the personal training is impeccable and fantastic, they offer an array of diverse classes with high quality instructors all included in the membership, the place is clean, they have a nice locker room with nice showers, great private clean stalls that lock properly (unlike Lifetime), a steam room, so many machines that you never have to wait to use and some machines that I never saw before even at the elite fitness clubs I belonged to. The decor is supreme, as is the customer service, the place is always comfortable, never over crowded, and you even have a smoothie bar as well as a Physical Therapist on site. It's the best place to exercise in all of Long Island. And I have also tried other gyms on guest passes, some which I liked a lot, like Fitness Incentive in Babylon Village, and some that were just ok, like New York Sports Club, LA Fitness, and Forever Fit Gym. I have been literally looking for a gym like Energy Fitness all of my adult life, and I have finally found it. Check them out online, print out their schedule, take a free tour and try their classes and training for free, and I am SURE, like me, YOU WILL BE HOOKED! The owners are present and attentive, the manager (Dennis) is very helpful, the staff is great. This is a petite elite gym, that to me is not so petite, and if you are used to paying $15 to $20 per class to do Yoga or Pilates at a studio or do Barre classes at Purebarre and having to make reservations to come to class (which you never need to do here) then YOU NEED TO GIVE ENERGY FITNESS A CHANCE because they have ALL those classes included AND MANY MORE, like Spinning, Yogafit, Yoga, Pilates, Piloxing, Booty Barre, Tabata, and many many more. Really, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying this place out. If you are a mom or dad they offer childcare in the mornings so you can take your class at peace (and unlike Lifetime they will take care of your kid and not call you in the middle of your class so you can come change diapers or make your kid stop crying). The membership is so affordable and they have great specials on sign up. This is a keeper for sure. I LOVE ENERGY FORT SALONGA!!!
