Great gym. Vae Victis is a crossfit that puts great thought and effort into is programming, coach development, and athlete development. Any meat head can throw a bunch of ridiculous exercises together, call it a work out and slap their name on it, but Vae Victis's programming has a plan. The weekly workouts are used to develop performance of a particular movement, say dead lifts or squats, throughout about an 8-12 week cycle. Their is thought put into the workouts that focuses on the basics from newcomers to even the more conditioned athletes. Additionally, emphasis is placed on development of the surrounding supporting musculature to stabilize thereby adding overall efficiency and quality to the movement. The important word here is quality. Any meat head can eventually move a bunch of weight, but Vae Victis trains you to do it right. Which brings me to my next point, coaches. Vae Victis puts effort into developing their coaches in order to develop you. They focus on dynamic work-ups, scientifically demonstrated to reduce injury and yes I can provide literature on this if needed, then focus on proper form during the strength and metcon portions. Coaches are an important part of crossfit. I've seen poor coaching and it's injurious results. Quality coaching is a big deal and is not a focus at every gym, but here it's the standard. I've seen coaches give pointers, corrections, and cues to every single athlete working out from beginner to advanced. The outcome, less injury and more performance for its athletes. The last point focuses on Athlete development. Vae Victis realizes every athlete is different with different goals. The coaches work with you to alter workouts to fit your goals. Say you want to train for a marathon, theirs a coach that can help to change workouts to focus more on endurance. They offer workshops that focus on more functional movements and better running technique, yes their is technique to running, Overall I think there is a strong thriving culture at this gym. The owners realize the expense of crossfit, strive to produce a good product, and deliver on it. I'll be one of the first people to say "Don't drink the Kool-aid," but there's none to drink here. Vae Victis has just high quality H2O in the form of well thought out programming delivered by strong teaching coaches in order to develop strong, efficient, functional athletes.

Nanci is so much more than a trainer. She is the nicest, kindest sweetest person. Once you meet her, you are instantly her friend. I know this because I met Nanci about 13 years ago when I was looking to get my gym life on track before I turned 40. She is a true inspiration just looking at her! I never ever thought I’d get into the gym and fitness...and I certainly never thought I’d work with a trainer. But I’m about 6 months into my gym membership and about 2 months into working with Steve Gallagher as my trainer at LIV and I love it! After 20 years behind a desk and 2 kids...I feel better than I have in ages! I look forward to every training session...it’s hard, but so fun. Steve is terrific and from what I can tell...the other trainers are too. There is an amazing diversity of age and fitness level among the clients which I think speaks volumes about this program. You can be at any level and these trainers will work with you to achieve your goals. It’s not cheap...but nothing is more important than your health! Highly recommend!
