On my own and instructor led. I've had bad internet instructions and I've had in person instructors. I've had ok instructors and I've had really bad instructors. I've worked out at a big box kick boxing place and felt the monotony set in to where I was bored and felt I wasn't getting much out of the work outs. I've been to a local gym where the instructor just wants to put you through your paces and doesn't even know what a water break is, let alone give you time to setup your weights correctly or time for muscle recovery. I've been to places where I've felt unsafe and places where it's all about numbers and where you are just a number.Now...I go to Real Results Health & Fitness with Dan Wells. I go at 5:30am almost every morning and 9:15am most Saturdays. Some days I go to the 4:30pm class because I can't wake up later in the week after a late night of volleyball and that's ok. I look forward to going to the gym. The days I don't; I feel like I am missing something. I have made many friends and everyone is happy and welcoming and say hi. People know your name, it's literally like the show "Cheers" most days and they ask where you've been if you don't go a day, and they are concerned if they don't hear from you. Dan has made a sense of belonging at his gym. It's more than losing weight (which comes with learning and repetition) but it's a sense of family, a community, and everyone striving to achieve their best.What got me hooked was the amount of attention Dan put into my wife's first 6 weeks at the gym. The care and science he puts into the meal planning. It's not all about lbs and scale weight, but to put it into prospective I lost 13lbs just off changing my eating while my wife was attending group training, then I started a two week trial and now since I started trying to lose weight 2 years ago I've lost the most weight and body fat just with guidance of Dan. Currently I'm down almost 50lbs (over two years, best results recently) and down around 7%bf but still have about 5% to go to hit my 18-22%. I'm stronger than I have been in a very long time and I'm getting stronger with each session. There are so many positives by going to FFFH it'll be a novel before I finish. Let's just say my doc is happy with all of my levels, my weight, and my change in physique. We are almost to the point where I can ditch the blood pressure meds.I encourage you to come and try it free for a week. You will not regret it. You will find a community of like minded people, supportive and happy to see you. Dan is positive and encouraging, realistic, and most of all safe, he wants you to succeed and won't put you on a weight or technique you can't do. You have to earn the ability to do complex lifts. He takes the time to instruct rather than run ragged for 40 min. You get so much more out of the work outs than just burning calories.

I have been a member at Better Bodies since 2004. I was a sporadic gym goer for quite awhile. Todd would call now and then and ask how we were doing and asked if there was anything he could help us with. Then as years went by, I began attending the gym more frequently. More recently, I have trained for marathons and I am now trying my hand at figure competitions. I have become familiar with most of the staff at Better Bodies and couldn't ask for better trainers and front desk staff. They are willing to help when questions arise and demonstrate proper form when asked. The small group and large group training class are outstanding!!!! I love when they put together challenges for us to do. It helps get to know more members and develop close friendships. I love this gym and everything they have to offer.
