Sustained Fitness

‘21 Certificate of Excellence

Sustained Fitness is a Physical Therapy clinic and Personal Training studio serving patients and clients of all ages, injury histories, and fitness levels. Our goal is client independence, and strongly focus on education throughout the experience, so our clients gain a sense of control over their health, their fitness, and their pain. Personal Training: In our Personal Training, we want to meet you at your starting point. Each person has different needs and different motivations, and therefore requires different strategies to meet their goals. We want to help you find the strategies that work best for you to remain consistent and effective with your workouts, diet, recovery, and wellness. We offer 45 minute and 60 minute sessions, and have a fully outfitted gym with equipment suited for all experience levels, so whatever your goals are, we can help you reach them. We also offer virtual training and programming, so you can chase your goals from the comfort of your own home. With our physical therapy background, we have a strong foundation in safely exposing you to stresses that create adaptation and strength, in order to help people get back from injury, but also to prevent them. We have vast experience with movement coaching, with an a vast knowledge of the anatomy and physiology behind our programming with each client. Every movement and every exercise has a purpose. Physical Therapy: At Sustained Fitness Physical Therapy sessions are always 1-on-1 with a Physical Therapist, and never an assistant or an aide. You will never have another patient session overlap with your time, so you get our undivided attention. This allows us to be more efficient and effective in our treatments, so you spend less time in physical therapy and more time getting back to doing the things you love. We offer manual therapy, soft tissue massage, corrective exercise, movement re-education, all with a holistic approach. The body doesn't work one part at a time, so why should your treatment?

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

Our biggest strategy in helping our clients achieve their goals is working with them to gain a sense of control. People often seek out trainers when they are trying to get started (or restarted), when they feel lost with their current workouts, or in our case sometimes when they have an injury and are afraid of hurting themselves again. Our job is not only to help give a few workouts totaling a few hours per week with each client, but to help them find the strategies that best suit their personality and behavior so that they feel in control all of the other hours of the day/week. A lot of fitness professionals can make a person work hard for an hour, but developing strategies and habits outside of that hour is where we can help create the most change.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Consistency built around smart programming, eating quality foods, and making recovery and sleep a priority. These aren’t a secrets, but everyone is going to have varying difficulty in adhering to these things. We want to help people understand their drivers and their barriers, so they can develop strategies to achieve their goals. “You just need to eat right and exercise hard” is lazy. Find a coach that will put effort into finding what works for you, not just giving you what works for them.

What do you love most about your job?

We love helping people make lifestyle changes and learn to love what can often be a frustrating experience. Building a community of people who are pushing towards improving their lives is incredibly rewarding.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Frustration with the current fitness and physical therapy models and industries. We wanted to bridge the gap between the two, and get away from the gate-keeping Fitness industry, because improving your life is not exclusive to people with lucky genetics. The current physical therapy model is driven by insurance companies, not clinicians and leaders in the field. The patient doesn’t come first in this scenario, and we wanted to change that. We want to show people that at any level, and any age, they are resilient, and their body is capable of amazing things.

Why should our clients choose you?

We are looking at the long run, not instant, unsustainable results. This is an investment, and we want to make sure that the dividends pay out handsomely. Our brand promise is “Results Today, Longevity Tomorrow.” We are aiming to give you some strategies on day one, and follow this up with long-term, sustainable change, based on your individual needs and goals.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

No, we are not taking any more online clients, besides for individual programming. However we want to see you in person before providing this programming.
