I came to this center barely being able to put on my own shoes. A few days later I was walking fine. Words can not express my appreciation for being healed from a very humbling physical condition - severe lower back pain. The facility is very warm, the staff were very helpful and of course Cara Michele offered a very insightful and pleasant experience. For those suffering from chronic or acute lower back pain, this is the place to go.

We are a Chinese martial arts school in Parkville. We look at kungfu as being a really fun way to improve your strength, flexibility and body coordination. As those improve you learn to do really fun moves that you thought you would only see in movies.

Jennifer is dead on! Its been nearly 20 years since I've attempted any Martial Art and Goh's totally reminded me of how much fun it is. I look forward to every class, its the highlight of my day. I felt stronger and more flexible after one class! I could've gone anywhere but I CHOSE Goh's and I think it says a lot when people who have done Martial Arts before choose your place over the others. Fancy giant Buddha statues do not impress me. I'd rather the money I spend go to equipment and quality instructors. I'm also glad they offer different lengths of membership and find it an additional motivator. The Martial Arts are all about time, patience and determination. If you can't commit to six months than this art may not be for you.

This was the best decision I've made for myself when it comes to my health! The nutrition class is very informative, precise and fun. The coaches are motivating, friendly and most of all CARES!
Not only do you have a personal coach, but also an online support system from all your friends you've made along the way. They hold you accountable with everyday postings of your meal. This program is designed to help you reach your goal.
Don't let the opportunity pass you by if you come across this gym! It's not easy, but if you truly dedicate yourself into the program you will succeed beyond your expectations!

Have been here several times, along with the Y in Towson. Both have their benefits, but this one is closest to my house and it's never crowded (my biggest frustration with any gym). Family environment, babysitting if you have younger ones, tons of free stuff included with your membership....And I've never experienced a rude employee, and I've never heard of anyone requesting a tour to be turned down without filling out paperwork. That's ridiculous. Take some of these reviews with a grain of salt....
Hi there. I’m Liz and I’ve been running B4 Fitness & Lifestyle Coaching since 2012. In that time I have continued to evolve my approach to health and fitness coaching. In 1993, I lost over 120 pounds and have kept it off. Shortly after my weight loss success, I made a life changing decision to give up a successful career in corporate banking and dedicate my life to helping others successfully adopt and maintain an active healthy lifestyle. Over the past 20 years, my fitness career has included coaching and mentoring hundreds of clients, designing and running weight loss programs, teaching a variety of group exercise class formats, classroom instruction, and delivering seminars and presentations on lifestyle modification topics. My approach to health & fitness coaching is different than what you might expect. I am big on creating an empowering environment with clients. One where we work together to build your system. We see our job as being as much an educator as a coach. We will give you new knowledge & skills while supporting you while you develop new habits to achieve your goals. Training sessions, while challenging, shouldn’t leave you having a near death experience on the floor. All coaching is habit based keeping it simple, effective and at a pace that allows change to ‘stick’. We want to help empower you to lead a more active lifestyle so you can do, be and feel your best. We offer more than exercise services. We offer behavior change. Long term health, wellness, strength & vitality long term requires balance as well as establishing solid lifestyle habits. Our coaching programs don’t stop at the training room door. We help you develop changes in all aspects of your life to achieve balance and wellness long term. Our goal is to help our clients live active lives. Optimal health is the foundation upon which an active lifestyle is built. The many aspects of modern life make this more and more difficult.
I start with discovering what is important to each client. People who invest in a personal trainer or a health coach usually have more desired outcomes than just achieving a number on the scale. Usually, what is important to most of us are the quality of life improvement goals that result from executing healthier daily behaviors. For example, if my client would like to reduce their medications, they value their health. Helping align their lifestyle changes with what they value helps to increase motivation. Long term behavior change is only achieved when we recognize that lifestyle changes put us in alignment with what we value. In addition I help each of my clients find their safest, best path to achieving a healthier lifestyle to help them increase their confidence over time.
I don't even like this question. For me and for my client's it is not about getting the body of your dreams, it is about achieving the best health and quality of life you can achieve regardless of your age, size or ability.
I love helping my clients realize that even a small amount of commitment to change can lead to big improvements in overall quality of life. I love helping them reach past where they thought that they could. I love celebrating their successes with them! I absolutely love the friendships I have made over the years. My life has been incredibly enriched through the relationships I have made.
In 1993, I lost over 120 pounds and have kept it off. Shortly after my weight loss success, I made a life changing decision to give up a successful career in corporate banking and dedicate my life to helping others successfully adopt and maintain an active healthy lifestyle. I spent 10 years working for a large, regional wellness center where I ran the weight loss program and other wellness programs, was a personal trainer and taught group exercise classes. In 2009 a bariatric surgeon saw my weight loss story and hired me to help him motivate his patients to exercise as a necessary part of the weight loss surgery journey. For 3.5 years I worked in the medical office as part of the medical team coordinating patient care with the surgeon, the RD, the psychologist, the bariatric nurse coordinator and other medical professionals in the hospital. My job was to help each patient find their best path to increasing physical activity and to keep them motivated. After 3.5 years, this surgeon left the practice and I decided to go out on my own to reach out to all of the regional bariatric centers to offer exercise support. I have developed relationships with 6 area programs. I provide education and support to these programs. I also recently published a book (available on Amazon) called Getting Physcial-The Bariatric Guide to Exercise and Activity.
My clients get a person who is totally committed and invested in their success. I have the unique combination of years of experience combined with working in the medical community as well as my own personal journey.
