During the Thanksgiving holiday time I experienced a stroke. After several days in a neuroICU and in-patient intensive Rehab I decided to remove myself from an unrestful hospital setting and begin out-patient PT, OT and speech therapies at Dr. Physio clinic.
Being recommended by medical providers, I soon realized I was in a setting with a skillful group of therapists who would be dedicated to my recovery. You are immediately greeted by a well-informed receptionist/scheduler who knows the name and status of each patient.
Each session begins with a check-in chat and blood pressure. Detailed notes are kept of my medical records, emotional, and physical well-being, along with my goals for what I would like to best achieve during my recovery. This is allowed to change at any time as you progress.
No matter which therapist you are training with, they have complete access to you records and what the best next steps would be. Sessions are often custom designed for your needs be they balance, strength or endurance. At times you may have a team of therapists working with you. There is always a sense of humor as you work hard toward your recovery. At home sessions are available, if that be your need.
The setting of the clinic is like an extended family cheering you on to your next level of achievement. Each comprehensive session is followed by another blood pressure, heart rate reading and/or oxygen check You also build a rapport with other patients which supports the family environment.

Because I myself was a person who was 70 pounds over weight and it affected every aspect of my life, health, happiness, and socially. So I am FULLY aware of how hard it is to get started and stick to it.
I was 51 years old and 256 pounds in the Spring of 2020 when
the country went into a lock down. Living alone I had to find
ways to fill the day. I did what many people at the time did
and bought a bicycle .
I started out just in my neighborhood on a $100 Walmart
Special Bicycle, I would go for 45 minutes a day and that was
enough. Before long I found myself bicycling to A1A up to
Delray down to Deerfield and Back to Boca 35 Miles a day and
over 2 hours of cycle time.
By then I was hooked!
I felt better and was losing some of the weight, a friend had
suggested that I try running as well and to join them in a race
called a Duathlon (Triathlon in which you bike/run/bike not
swim). I competed in my first race on My birthday 2021 and
came in third for my age group.
Fitness was now my life, I joined a muay thai gym and a regular
gym and was in the best shape of my life!
I had lost 70 pounds and was unstoppable!
UNTIL I was race training in July 2021 and suffered a triple
hernia that required surgery.
I was out of commission for almost 5 months!
Rather than let it derail me, I decided to find out how the body
works and help others find their way to fitness, so I studied my
tail off and got the best Certified Personal Trainer Certification
available with the National Academy of Sports Medicine NASM.
I am so excited to be able to continue my journey, and also
show others that you are never too old or out of shape to turn
it all around.
I do primarily online remote work. My clients download apps to their phones to track exercises, activity, and meal plans. This software works with all sports watches. Video Call session can also be included with any package.
