I offer primarily private Pilates training sessions which focus on teaching awareness of proper alignment, body mechanics & spine safety not only in exercise but in daily life as well. We use this awareness & Pilates to improve peoples' quality of life...which was Joe Pilates' goal . If you travel and don't want to miss a session, ask me about virtual training through Zoom video conferencing. I also offer private classes for small groups. If you enjoy working out with friends, don’t get lost in a crowd. I teach mat classes for up to four people in my studio. Weather permitting, I can teach up to 15 students on my deck. The best part? You pick the people! In addition, I offer fitness experiences: Ladies Night Out Pilates, Mom & Me Pilates, Pilates on Deck, Specialty workshops with experts in other fields, Catalina Island Pilates Retreat, "on Deck" or on location lecture/demo/workshops on proper alignment for posture & exercise. The studio is equipped with the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ped o Pull, Foot Corrector, Spine Corrector and mats, along with room for one to four students for a mat class.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

Your initial session includes a discussion about your health and movement history, issues such as past injuries and chronic conditions, and your goals. I’ll develop a Pilates plan that reflects your unique needs. Then in one-on-one training sessions I will lead you through a customized 55-minute session that includes working on the mat, reformer, cadillac, Wunda chair &/or the Ped-o-Pull. As you get stronger, I will adjust your workout accordingly. My job is to keep you challenged whatever your age, weight, and current level of ability. I will help you make Pilates a permanent, positive part of your life.

In addition, I offer specialized shorter sessions that can be completed as needed or in between your longer workouts. Focus/Stretching is a challenging mat session designed to loosen and elongate muscles. Focus/Alignment will bring your spine "back into warranty." If you spend a lot of time in the car, in front of a keyboard, or playing sports, feel the difference a Focus session can make.

The secret to getting the body of your dreams is commitment and consistency in your workouts as well as being intentional about balancing caloric intake with calories burned .

What do you love most about your job?

My joy comes from sharing this powerful method to encourage, support and inspire you to go beyond your expectations! It is such a pleasure to hear clients come in and say "Colleagues are telling me I look taller and my posture is better." or "I feel so much better and stronger! Before Pilates I would not have been able to hold that drill above my head for as long as it took to remove all those curtain rods and brackets."

What inspired you to start your own business?

Being able to customize sessions to clients' needs and build a lasting relationship without any restrictions that can come from working within a larger studio or gym environment. .Rather than being in a large, noisy, crowded health club my studio is a calm, healthy oasis. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, my 400-square foot studio is surrounded by a 650-square foot deck and a mature shade tree. The fragrance of jasmine and orange blossom and the soft ringing of the chimes adds to the picture-perfect setting.
