The secret to keeping a dance party going all night long is variety. Having a great variety of music for all kinds of different age groups on the dance floor. It’s also important to maintain good energy throughout the whole event. If that’s an upbeat cocktail hour or laid back dinner everything you play will add up to wither or not guests want to get out on the dance floor when the official dancing begins.
Pro Tip: Don’t forget to match the atmosphere of the venue your performing at with the music ex. Beach setting vs. Black Tie event.
As for my style, I am what is called a mix DJ. I mix music live throughout the evening to keep the energy up and everyone dancing. I want to know about all the music you’re excited to hear and I'm happy to mix in requests from friends and family too.
When it comes to requests I have a great filter and will only play the best/most appropriate request to keep your guest on the dance floor.
What I love most about my job is that every event is unique. Each wedding and private event that I DJ has a different mix of people and age ranges. The cool part is that you can pick up new mixes and songs that you hadn’t considered playing before and begin using them at future events. You are always meeting new people and finding great music and that is what is so exciting about DJing.
I began to DJ and clubs and bars as a hobby on the weekends, I was asked to do a wedding and after that, I got completely drawn into the wedding world. Due to the demand I decided to quit my job in 2012 and have been a Full-Time Professional DJ ever since, personally performing at over 500 Weddings and Events.
I love using my experience to help couples with any questions they have on making their wedding day better. Sharing my knowledge of weddings and what I do keeps me going and I’m happy to share my experience with you too!
