In my opinion, you have to know how to "read the room" - or more accurately..."read the DANCE FLOOR". You can quickly tell when people aren't liking the current song that's playing within 30 seconds - and if that's the case, we always have the next song ready to go and will switch it up quickly to see if we get a better reaction. Usually, the next one will get them - but if not, then we move on to the NEXT one....and ONE of those will get them going. We also know how to interact with the crowd professionally, and in a fun way, that helps get people more involved and on the floor.
We have several DJs who all vary on style. But my personal style - and this is what most people have wanted - is energetic and involved with the crowd - and actually out on the dance floor "gettin Jiggy with it", know what I mean = ) But I can be low key as well, when requested. but my motto is "if the DJ looks like he's having fun, more people will wanna have fun too!"

I saw a niche market for a DJ entertainer who does it like nobody else out there, and there really are not a lot of DJs out there who get involved and take their job seriously enough to earn their money.
