Kolaches and Polka music... was my exposure to Czech culture until today.I was recently on an audio tour of Houston's museum district and they mentioned the Czech Museum. Â So headed on over. Â I came up to the building and noticed the operating hours were open now but I couldn't open door. Â There was a bell so I went ahead and rang it.I was graciously let in by Olivia, which would be my private tour guide. The Czech Museum is the newest addition to the official Houston Museum district so it doesn't get a lot of traffic. Â I was glad though because I was able to get a personal 1 on 1 tour for only 6 BUCKS!!! Â This by far was the best deal I got all day on my visits to the museums. Â Photography is allowed in the building so you get to keep memories of all of the beautiful art. Â Olivia is very knowledgeable and was willing to answer any of my questions no matter how silly they seemed. Â On my way out she even gave me a free bottle of water since it was so HOT outside.Upstairs is a very nice banquet hall that can rented out. Â They are TABC licensed and allows for any catering company to be brought in.I would tell anyone in Houston to come check this small and personal museum, be sure to ask for Olivia, she will take care of you!

Hello all, I am Marissa! I am a coordinator contracted by this venue. I wanted to leave this review to clarify a couple things that were incorrect in previous reviews where my name and reputation had been questioned. I, however, will not call out names as it is completely unnecessary. I have only had one dissatisfied bride and groom out of all the weddings I've had. It is a truly unfortunate situation when a wedding goes wrong in so many ways as this one did. The venue did their best to accommodate their needs after the winter storm even though they recommended to reschedule. However, I understand there are things that could've been better.
When it comes to me being 'late', it simply is just false information. It was clearly written on the timeline I sent to the bride the time I would arrive and leave. The reason I was not there for the full 10 hour day as usual is due to my fee getting cutting in half. Even though I took half my usual rate to help this bride and groom, they wanted everything they would've gotten for my full price. That is just not reasonable! To be transparent, I received $250 for this wedding. To break it down for this who do not coordinate, my full fee includes: a 2 hour meeting one to two months prior to wedding, help with wedding planning or questions, and an 8-10 hour wedding day coordination. All together I usually put in 30-40 hours for each bride (split up), which is a usual work week. I try to go above and beyond for my bride/groom's and their families, but I can't just give one bride the full service for half price because then I'd have to do it for others; I have to make a living. When I got to the venue(30 mins early! scheduled at 1:30, arrived at 1) I immediately started fixing the issues that the bride mentioned to me to ease the situation. She even started feeling better, once she saw that I had it under control and let me know that. As mentioned in the beginning, this is not the usual reviews/feedback for me or for the venue. I am an organized coordinator with a passion to make client's special day, that much more special and stress free and I have many brides that can verify that! All in all, my heart goes out to this bride and groom for not having the wedding of their dreams. We are all human and we all make mistakes. We live and learn. Hopefully we can learn to spread more kindness in this very unkind world. 💛

I like this spot. I've been meaning to stop by the last few months, but just haven't had the time. The customer service was good, the prices are reasonable, and I'm glad to see something like this in Third Ward. They have plenty of outlets and free wifi, so that's always a plus. They serve wine and coffee, so there's something for everyone. The place is very clean and nicely decorated, and it's on a major street. So for those who are scared to come to the tre, there's no need to be scared. There's also plenty of parking, good a/c, and friendly people. Overall, I give this place 2 thumbs up. I hope they build a sizable following, so that they can survive the gentrification that's going on over here, because property taxes are only going up from here.

If you are going to swing from the chandeliers, this would be the right restaurant, especially if you'd like to do it inside a giant room with glass walls and the gorgeous fauna of Buffalo Bayou surrounding you. Sub-tropical jungle chic. Dogs allowed on the porch. Despite the fancy attire, and indeed, an often very fancy clientele (I've seen a lot of shoes that cost more than my college education here) there are a number of really filling breakfasts less than $10. I think that's just right for a park restaurant, I love that I see as many joggers and families as I see socialites. It's also a really ethnically diverse restaurant, as opposed to some others I've been in in River Oaks.
