Fort Bend
I have been a professional photographer in Katy, Texas for over 15 years. I absolutely love what I do and I promise our time together will be low-stress and fun. My specialties include high school seniors, engagement, bridal portraits, weddings, maternity, family portraits and artistic/creative projects. I offer "all inclusive" pricing, meaning you don't pay a sitting fee, plus a fee for your image files. ALL sessions include a web gallery where you can download your high resolution image files (print release provided). Extras offered at an additional charge include: professional prints and art pieces (canvas, wood, metal, etc) at discounted prices, archival quality albums, & USB flash drive of your image files
I treasure the times when I capture authenticity, spirit and personality in an image. It's usually that "magical" split second when my client didn't think I was clicking the shutter. These beautiful moments usually make me cry when I'm processing the session...yes, I'm a softy...I melt for babies & I cry at Geico commercials.
When I was growing up, my mother kept photographs, even the professional ones, in a dresser drawer in her bedroom. None were framed or displayed on the walls, just piled in a drawer (flash forward 30 years and now we keep photos on thumb drives!) It gives me great satisfaction when a client proudly displays an image in their home. That's when I know the "magic" happened.
My grandmother and mother were both working artists, and I've always been a creative/artsy type...it's in my DNA. Like so many self-taught photographers, I literally picked up my camera and started shooting, which led to experimental portraits on my not-very-thrilled son, which led to friends wanting me to take photographs of their equally-not-as-thrilled children. My biggest inspiration early on was the reaction I got when I delivered a session...the emotions....the laughter....the heartfelt thanks for giving them a beautiful gift they will treasure. It still motivates me today.
When choosing the right photographer for you, here are 3 important things to consider: 1) Do you like their style of photography? All photographers have their own unique "look" and it's not for everyone. 2) Is their price a good value? What is included in price (make sure you are comparing comparable offers)? 3) If you checked yes in points 1 & 2, the deciding factor is usually the feeling you get in chatting with them, the unspoken stuff that makes you think "What a cool person. This should be fun" or "They give me a weird vibe!" If the photographer's personality annoys or irritates you pre-session, it will show in your photographs...it's important that you connect, that you're having fun and that you are relaxed.
So what am I like? Well, I'm generally upbeat & high energy (but in a raise-you-up/positive way). I get excited during a session when I'm seeing the perfect light or a beautiful shot through my view finder. There's always a "money shot" when we work together (the best shot of the session) and I'll usually call it audibly which makes everyone giggle. I keep it fun....I am an absolute clutz & often trip over nothing... I've been known to crawl around in a pasture on a mission to get "wispy grass/Taylor Swift album cover" portraits (yes, it's a thing).
My clients consistently say they were nervous about or even dreading their session, and I made it stress-free & even enjoyable. That's the biggest compliment! I'm also good with follow-up/follow-through, and I'm prompt.
Drop me a line, text or call me...ask me anything to help you make the best decision, and thank you for your consideration!
