Lauren came all the way to my house for my hair trial at my convenience. Then Lauren had the difficult task of doing hair for 9 women on an extremely hot and rainy day! She did an amazing job and everyone loved their hair. Lauren is very professional, talented, and hard working! Would highly recommend her!!

When I first moved to New York, I was unsure if I would find a stylist who understood exactly the look I was going for. After going to several salons with no luck, I came across Fabio, who was highly recommended by various friends of mine. From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. Fabio listened to what I wanted and tailored a haircut to fit my specific head shape and hairline. Lucio, the main colorist at the salon, has been coloring my hair for years and I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do it. He always knows exactly how to make my hair color look natural and full of life. I am forever grateful to Fabio, Lucio and everyone at the salon for making my hair look exquisite. I will continue to be a loyal customer for years to come.

I've been here twice and loved it both times, at the location on 5th Ave near Rockefeller Center.  My hairdresser - Cypriano - gave me a great cut both times.  First time I was going from really long hair to a "skim-the-shoulders" cut.  First, the hairdresser was totally willing to listen to what I wanted.  I wanted my hair shorter than Cypriano recommended.  He disagreed, but only briefly, then gave me a great cut at the length I wanted.  Also, I was donating my hair to Locks for Love, so the longest portion needed to be cut a certain way, and he was happy to accommodate. And he did 2 different treatments to soften and moisturize my hair, which made it look and feel fabulous. Definitely pricey, but fabulous.Second time I was there, I just needed a trim.  My fantastic hairdresser saw immediately that my hair was dry.  I asked whether I should do the (pricey) treatments I did last time.  Cypriano could've made a ton more money doing it, but instead he recommended I buy a (much cheaper) deep conditioner to use at home.  I really appreciated that he wasn't just out to make money on the more expensive treatments, and he was right!  My hair is much better with the regular deep conditioning.If you're looking for a curly hair place, and your hair is type 3B like mine (see naturallycurly.com - a great source of info for curly hair gals), I'd highly recommend this place!  Plus I love the products - had been using the same styling products for 15 years, and switched over to Curlisto's!  (By the way - salon name is Christo, and products named Curlisto.)

I have been a very happy customer of this salon for many years and can highly recommend it. I was surprised to read the review that precedes mine but it is clear that said reviewer made an ASSumption about the salon based on a single visit. Let's be real, accidents sometimes do occur. An offer of a free (and presumably pricey) deep conditioner is a testament to the classy reputation of the salon. Let's get to the point ladies---the hair! I have a very unique texture that is extremely curly and hard to deal with. Therefore I often come into the salon looking with a mess of haphazard crazy tight ringlets. By the time I leave, my hair is silky smooth, shiny and straight as a pin (the way I like it). Not only that but it is well conditioned and smells lovely. And the look lasts until my next wash which is generally a week later. This blowout gives that coveted hair blowing in the wind thing (I think the secret is that they don't use much product while styling, many Black salons tend to make that mistake which only weighs the hair down) If you are into weaves (that's not my thang), the owner does excellent weaves (this is actually her claim to fame). I have seen many celebrities in there getting weaves done and when they leave they look as expected---picture perfect . I urge any Black chica living in the city to take a chance on this fabulous salon, you won't regret it.
