Located in the Mapleside Farms complex is Sugar Hive Bakery. Â The bakery offers a variety of baked goods: pies; fancy cupcakes; giant apple fritters; frisbee sized cookies; kolaczki; etc. I have tried the fritters and one of their pretzel/ caramel cookies. The fritter was good - massive though (bring a friend). Â The cookie was outstanding... frisbee sized or not I just couldn't stop eating it. The counter service was attentive and friendly. Â Prices were ok given the size of the pastry. The cookie was $3 I think and the fritter $4 or $5. They do serve coffee but I would in no way call it a coffee bar. There is limited seating if you want to "dine in". Â I believe that they do custom cakes and other orders. The place has potential - the stuff they have is good. Â Could use a solid espresso bar. Â They would probably have to grow a food menu if they want to expand into a "hangout " type place... but not sure if that's what the owners are shooting for.
