What makes a great website?

A great website has less to do with the design (it's still important, of course) and more to do with the preparation. A great website must work FOR you.

Once I learn about your company, its offerings, who your ideal customers are, and your goals, I can begin to plan a website design that will work for you. These days, that includes the basic foundational SEO code that is compliant with Google's recent algorithm update. Being in line with what Google is looking for will give your website the best chance to be found and your company to show up in the Google map results.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

I ask what you need to accomplish and what will make your company stronger and better. Knowing more about your company and goals helps tremendously towards creating digital media that represents you and helps you achieve your goals.

What do you love most about your job?

I am what is considered to be a creative. Helping people meet their business goals and end up with a website that starts working for them is a great feeling.

What inspired you to start your own business?

In 1990, I was selling display ads in a magazine. I had just sold a full-page ad to a restaurant for over $2,000. I stopped in the parking lot on the way to my car. I turned around, went back into their office and ripped up the contract I had just gotten signed. The owner's jaw hit the desk.

"Your money would be better spent on new menu designs and nicer table clothes," I said.

"You need someone like me to keep you from someone like me."

They became the first clients in my marketing agency.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm a hybrid of graphic designer, programmer, writer, and marketer. I've found that the combination is rare.

Basically, I don't just design a pretty site. I provide a website that actually WORKS for my clients. It needs to sell while they're sleeping.

This is showing my age, but I began developing websites back in late 1994. My first sites were programmed in Word. In 1995, I ended up designing the first official website of the Oakland Raiders. From that, I ended up doing websites for several NBA players as well as baseball legend Willie Mays.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I do most of my work remotely (phone or video conference), but meeting in person (if possible) and seeing a company's offices and how it operates helps as well.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Rather than meeting in person, I can hold meetings over the phone or video conference (Zoom, Google Meet, FaceTime, etc.).
