Maureen is a very nice lady that aims to make you feel better. Â She has stayed after hours to accommodate my schedule and has giving me the "quick" version of treatment when I didn't have the time. Â There are a few notable difference in this place:1: They take insurance!2: A massage comes with your treatment3: They provide acupuncture on a mechanical massage table, so you get a back massage while you wait with needles. Nice!4: They have a water alkalizer and they encourage patients to bring their own container to fill up and bring home. She knows exactly where to place the needles, because I can feel the electrical surge when placed.I recommend!

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is an effective, evidence-based treatment grounded in psychoanalytic principles; it has been shown to be helpful for a wide variety of mental health issues. It is especially beneficial for problems that don't respond to other therapies or medication alone. What to expect--The relationship patient develops with the analyst is key in psychoanalysis. Typically, treatment involves the patient coming several times a week, lying on a couch as openly and freely as possible. Treatment is about developing a relationship. Many patients come to therapy because of pain. The pain of loss, the pain of trauma, inability to cope, insecure or ambivalent or insecure attachments or just downright unhappy with life. Together we work on putting the pieces of emotional history together, at first however fragmented, to create a cohesive narrative. Emotional work is not like academic learning. Academic learning comes quicker than emotional learning. Emotional learning is slower, takes time, musing, associations, dreaming, daydreaming and talking about feelings. Emotions matter in life and are central to all other learning. Emotions are the psychological bedrock on which all of life is lived. When people talk about not being able to cope or are unhappy, or depressed or anxious what people are really talking about is not having language for their emotions. Psychotherapy is a talking cure for a professional who provides a safe, secure and trusting environment for emotions to evolve. Please visit my website for more on the power of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
I love meeting new people and creatively working together to building emotional structures where the fabric of their hearts and minds need reinforcement.
I started my private practice in a rectory, St. Timothy's Catholic Church when I was 29 years old and newly licensed as a licensed professional counselor. I have a background in theology in addition to my education in psychology. I was the first laywoman to work as a Youth Minister when I was 21 years old so the world of Catholicism and spirituality have always been important to me. When people needed help in the Middle Ages they did not go to a psychologist, they turned to the religious who were the most educated in the ways of the spirit of God. Faith takes us through the dark times and brings our souls closer to the light of God of compassion, hope, and believe that life is to be lived with purpose and meaning.
I have a lot of experience working with mental health issues, I am very well trained as a psychoanalyst and even more important I believe in my vocation as a psychoanalyst. Talking helps, to talk cures and relationships matter.
