I live in the Chicago area, but most of my piano studio is online. When the pandemic began, I was eager to try the online platform. Through trial and error, I was able to establish a piano studio that is just as effective, if not more so, than an in person studio only because the student is in their own environment and the lessons are more relaxed. If you find the right tools to create an online studio, and invest in the technology, the online setting is a wonderful place to teach.

I am an older adult learner. Erinn makes piano lessons seem natural. She’s very attentive and is always encouraging me to do the best of my ability. Without her I don’t know what I would do. I am surprised, every time I meet with her, what I can do. An excellent piano instructor! She also encourages all piano learners to participate in the piano recital that she holds twice a year. I did not want to do that but she said something to me that encouraged me to do this. I am glad that I did!

Learning to play the piano can be challenging. Â But, it should always be an experience filled with fun, passion and joy. Â Andria is a key part of my success as an adult piano student, and since beginning my lessons with her, I've again found the joy and fun in playing piano. Â Andria is an incredible teacher. Â I've greatly benefitted from her music theory teachings, and I particularly admire her ability to tailor these lessons to her audience--from child to adult learner, or from beginning to advanced learner regardless of age. Â Andria wants her students to succeed and develop a life-long love of piano. Â To achieve this, Andria understands how and when to challenge her students. Â For me, Andria has been a keen observer of how I learn. Â She works diligently and patiently with me through difficult passages, making sure that I understand how to break the passage down to practice. Â But, in knowing me as a student, Andria has not been afraid to shift my focus to different pieces when she felt that a piece might be just out of my reach, causing too much frustration for me or if I was starting to become discouraged with my progress. Â This kind of guidance and care in teaching has been as liberating for me as it's been exciting. Â I also appreciate that Andria understands that, as an adult, sometimes "life" gets in the way and I'm not as prepared for our lesson as I'd like to be. Â Andria isn't at all judgmental. Â We just sit down and play--present in that moment--and I never leave without being charged-up and excited for what I might conquer in the coming week. Â In sum, working with Andria has been a pure joy! Â I would recommend her to any student looking for a true partner in piano. Â I look forward to studying with Andria for many years to come.
