Saskia has done some great photo shoots with us over the past couple of years and we are always impressed with her professionalism and thoroughness with the resulting photos. She interacted very well with my wife and I, and was great at engaging our children as well and capturing some special moments with all of us. Her creativity with the camera and the natural environment lends itself well to her artistic eye, and I would recommend her services to anyone looking for both informal shoots as well as formal wedding photography and albums.

Charlie did some wonderful headshots for my husband a few years ago, and I asked him to do mine as well when I bought my agency recently. Not only did Charlie go above and beyond (he packed up his entire studio and drove 45 minutes to my location at the last minute because of an error that I made in my scheduling for the day), but he was incredibly kind and professional, which put me at ease. I was not looking forward to having my picture taken because of how self conscious I feel, but Charlie was great, and I actually really like the way the photos turned out. During the photo shoot, he was diligent about making sure everything looked good (like a stray piece of hair, or a wrinkle in my shirt). And he also did some small but important touch ups during editing (like whitening my teeth a little and smoothing some of my eye wrinkles- my husband has noticeably uneven eyes when he smiles, and Charlie was able to make them look more symmetrical- just small things that make a big difference). It's also a helpful bonus that he gives his clients several file sizes for their picture so I could quickly plug them in to the different social media/marketing platforms I am using for my business. I would recommend Charlie to anyone looking for a photographer.
I am a fun loving girl who happens to have a passion for portrait photography and my personal mission is to change the world one wall at a time by getting your images off your computer, out of your junk drawer and into your everyday life. I promise to do all the work and make it easy for you to enjoy your memories. We take the design journey together and step by step I guide you through the process. I help you envision your portrait session, capture the moments that are most precious to you and together we design custom artwork to showcase your portraits. I offer a variety of choices from beautiful mounted or matted prints, framed wall art, canvas wall art, memory boxes, albums, and digital images. Specializing in babies, children, seniors, and family portraiture.
Photography is all about the moments. A great photograph captures all the feeling and the mood of that single moment and it doesn't hurt to make sure it's well lit too!
I ask all my clients to explain to me what it is that want to capture. What is the feeling you want your portraits to convey? Which memories are the most important? What family connections should we showcase and how do they want to remember these memories in their everyday lives, long after the session is done.
I love the people! I am a people person. I love new cultures, new traditions, new faces, and all types personalities. People are so different in so many beautiful ways and yet so much the same. I really enjoy building friendships while helping people capture and display the things that are the most important to them.
Truthfully, my kids are growing up! My mom ended up an empty Nester when my sister and I grew up and moved away. She was kind of lost and I vowed to avoid that phase of parenting. As my kids got older and needed me less at home, I decided it was time to take my hobby out to the world to help other families capture their memories. Running my own business creates the flexibility I need be there for my kids with the added benefit of growing my personal circle. My business is keeping me busy and a part of my community, so hopefully my nest will never truly be empty.
That's a great question and a hard one to answer, really. Since my service is so personalized to each individual client, I can't just say why one client should choose me over someone else. I truly believe that great service comes from building a partnership based on trust and friendship. I treat my clients more like friends than customers and I wouldn't want it any other way. My advice to your clients would be to give me a call for a quick chat to see whether we are a match for each other and to make sure that I am the right photographer for their needs.
To be in front of my camera for portraits we will have to meet face to face, but consultations and design meetings can be done remotely through Face time, a Zoom Call or Google Meet.
So many changes have occurred in the last year for all of us and that defiantly goes for my business. Like I mentioned above, I have added remote consultations and design meetings to minimize contact for people who are not comfortable meeting in person. When I do an in person consultation or home design meeting I keep my distance and mask up. This also applies to all my photography sessions. Masks are required in my studio while you are not in front of the camera and I sanitize my studio between clients, which is limited to one client per day right now. I did write all about the steps I am taking to keep everyone safe in this blog, feel free to give it a read. https://www.jphairowphotography.com/blog/covid-19-guidlines-for-photography-sessions/
