What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

Any photographic image will mean different things to different people. When I'm producing images for a client, I work to balance my creative input and judgement with what the client is asking for. When the customer is happy with the image, their needs have been met and that is a definition of success. For my personal and creative endeavors, a photograph that evokes an emotion, of any kind, is potentially a "great photograph."

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

First I simply need to know the scope of the project and the intentions for the images when it's completed. Regardless of the scale of the project, I always strive to provide my best work and meet the clients needs. I will ask about the budget, time frame and what circumstances I can expect from the shoot. Details such as the use of models, locations that might need permits or permissions are examples of some of the questions I'll examine in our initial consultation.

What do you love most about your job?

It's different every day and having my own studio and photography business offers a sense of freedom that is not always present when working for someone else. It's one of the reasons I left the corporate broadcast television industry and pursued my career in photography which was always my first passion.

What inspired you to start your own business?

The simple premise that I could earn a living by doing the kind of work I enjoy most. Loving ones job and career is the most important aspect of being happy with life.

Why should our clients choose you?

First I have extensive experience in not only photography but in video production and I understand the real aspects of running a business. Not only for myself but managing a television production studio where I gained a great deal of knowledge about business operations and a companies need for quality results.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I can offer printing and retouching services online through various web based file transfers when needed. Following a photo or video shoot, I upload the project either in stages for review or when completed.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I have always observed the appropriate protocols for any contagious viral or bacterial transmission, such as Covid-19, as required by local and federal health departments as well as any requirements set forth by individual clients.
