What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

Timing and emotion are key for taking great photographs. Sometimes you need to have a client imagine various scenarios to shift their mind to shift their emotions to get that great shot. For instance if I'm doing a photoshoot session with a child I'll ask them what are their favorite things and maybe even ask them to explain those things and why it's their favorite.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

What type of project is this?
What role would my company play in the project?
What is the project start date?
What is the project due date/completion date?
What is the budget for the project?

What do you love most about your job?

I love being helpful, and doing my job well. I am so excited to see a clients face when they walk into an event space, or when they see the photos after their event. The way I see my job is I am helping my clients to create memories and/or a better life. Not all of my clients are individuals or couples, many of my clients are other small businesses, I want them to succeed and as such their marketing materials and other items that I create need to look great! A business that does better creates opportunities for a better life for the people supported by that business. Happiness as a whole is an improvement on anyone's life, and happy clients are the best clients!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have an old school mindset; I feel if you offer a service the client should get their money's worth. I felt like many places are not operating that way and each client is just a dollar sign, and the work output is just enough to get the job done and in some cases lacking integrity. I wanted to make sure there was an option free of price gouging with a company that was easy to work with that offered quality service. I genuinely want happy customers and to be able to produce work that I can be proud of.

We do offer some of our services remotely, and have actually been doing so long before the COVID Pandemic. Our remote services are mostly handled via email and have been used by clients from all over the USA. We do also handle parts of the remote services over the phone or via text as necessary.
